If it got low range transfer case I would buy it. Been looking for Jimny replacement for a long long time. My samurai went to a lot of places unthinkable with bigger vehicle.

I’m guessing… this will be around the size of the older 2007-8 Rav 4

Or the modern day volvo xc 40

And.. “If” it is built to the specifications of a “Landcruiser” to withstand the rigors of what that name implies…..

Then it could be a Interesting little 4x4 vehicle
that’s capable of some very useful things.

Small, nimble and intriguing

Yet Here…. Many will shun this design as being a Karen mobile.

Would be fun to see the mini LC with tires and small lift on a real Offroad trail and what it could do before agreeing to that.

Those Samuri have a real advantage.
Seen one at a recent car show.

Was built extremely well and had sufficient power to really get itself into and out of some tight spots.

I’d imagine that new mini LC would be similar in size

Will the 4runner reveal first ?

The 4Runner should reveal around or after the first of the year (2024), so I think the answer is yes.
I just heard from my Plano source, the Toyota National Dealer Meeting will be in Las Vegas next week, Sept. 12-14. Many of the dealers will see the new 2025 6th gen 4Runner for the first time, expect leaks within a week, hopefully it will include photos.

I said this in one of the other threads. But man I wish Toyota would build something that would compete with the full cab side by sides. This would be about the right size I think. But they could build it with long travel UTV style suspension. And it must have a low range.

If they build it - I think what it will really be is just a RAV4 reskinned with basically no off-road capability.

The new USA LC is a Prado, so it is very nice to see Toyota wanting to bring the "short" Prado version too. It is a PHENOMENAL vehicle and very capable sold a lot in other parts of the world !

Great news !!

Great news. Hopefully we will get some answers. Been holding off on a 24 5th gen 4R or possibly the LC250 if the 6th gen 4r is a flop. I have to say that Toyota is doing well. Initially I was not happy with the LC250 and it's turbo hybrid engine but I guess times are changing and I can't imagine Toyota building a LC in Japan and having issues like the Tundra waste gate.

This new mini Cruiser looks great. I always wanted a Jimny and this might be the closest thing. Hopefully it is a BOF and comes with the Rav hybrid system and 8 sp. That will sell like hotcakes.

I believe in the video.. It states BOF

Ps
Isn’t wastegate a minimal issue that got resolved with 2023?

I'm assuming it did but there are other quality issues like rattling windows and arm wrest plus a bunch of electrical/computer issues. Going into limp mode and needing to be towed. The cab having to be taken off the vehicle to get access to the turbos is a bit scary 7-10 years down the road if the turbo goes. I don't want to wait until 2026-27 to get a new LC or 4R.

I’ll be in the market end of next year… as I want to see if the interest rates will change.

Perhaps Yota will have issues worked out or I’ll look at a Used tried and true model

Toyota sure has some new intriguing ideas. Like this little Cruiser.

Can't comment on the other issues but apparently the cab isn’t required to be removed but was done so in a few instances so that Toyota engineers could better look at everything, according to reports I've read.

Why have the new LC and 4R since they target the same buyer, which is why I still think the new 4R will almost has to be something completely different. A LC-Mini just muddies the waters even more.

The GX550 makes sense at a Lexus showroom but wouldn't at Toyota.
