Yawn. The Bronco Sport is also a joke to shamelessly piggyback on the brand.

Give it another name and protect the legacy.
exactly, but fords a joke anyways
theyd water their brand down for a buck without a second thought

Ford does a lot of odd stuff. But you can't ignore the wild amazing stuff they also do. The Bronco DR is nuts. And the new F150 has a lot of innovative options we don't see Toyota doing. OEM winch bumpers, OEM winches, full house power inverters (with 85 hours of power at 2.4kw and 32 hours at full 7.2kw), lowering the cost of the hybrids to a no-cost option vs the 3.5 EB on most trims, etc. Although I'm a Toyota guy - I see a lot of innovation in the BOF products at Ford that I wish Toyota would try. Not to mention practical styling like a hood you can see over and low belt lines.

why not?
the market is there
they have the BOF 4-door rugged SUV market locked up
the FJ40 was around when the OG bronco and CJ were around.....and Ford and J**p still make a legacy product
they have 60 years of immediate marketing materials to flood the market with
the cruiser name still carries water, even though toyota is trying to ruin it as fast as they can(in the states)
a parts bin truck could be built tomorrow
we have gotten so far to the side of tech, throw away, complicated, and flash that it would be refreshing to see a push in the other direction.....and that advertising writes itself

Lol okay

To make money. That segment is highly profitable. Well above average. And it's a low cost parts bin model.

I think the better question is why not?
Probably because they think you’re wrong.

We'll probably never know. Jeep and Ford will continue to share the market. A market bigger than the midsize sedan market with only 2 competitors.

If Toyota ever builds an enthusiast off-road model, a small bof 4x4, or a convertible 4x4 I'll be absolutely shocked.

More Land Cruiser Mini articles out the last several days, Toyota is expected to reveal the "Land Hopper" at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show, Oct 25th.

Question is will the Land Hopper come to the US or is it only for foreign markets?

IMHO Land Hopper sounds more like a name they'd give to a vehicle released in non-USA (Asian) markets. Land Cruiser XXXX sounds better and would tag onto the Land Cruiser Heritage/History in the US market. FWIW

Either way, if under $30,000 they'll sell a lot of them.

Nothing is under 30k anymore from Toyota! LOL
This could be the next Rav4? Strange but interesting times with Toyota these days.

Would have been amazing to get a Suzuki Samurai type trucklett but even the bean counters with Suzuki saw that it would basically be competing in price with a base two door wrangler. So not competetive.

I am sure Toyota sees the same issue with the small SUV market.

The RAV4 is the ‘best-selling model in the world last year’ so I seriously doubt they would do anything radical to risk that position.

The trademark is now official
"Land Cruiser FJ" anyone...

Trademark: "Land Cruiser FJ"
