Not sure how to remove the rear coils without a spring compressor so I will wait on the spacers
I have that sound Matt in my Amazon cart, Do you think it’s worth the price savings?
I’m with you in terms of opening up other plastic panels to lay some in there, and get the seat belts out. I’m also going to override the tpms sensor while in there. Any insights for taking the plastic panels off in the back?
Also as I said in your rear coil thread, they are a bitch to get out/in especially if the new coils are significantly taller. I actually ended up using a ratchet strap to compress the coils and a spring compressor in tandem.

I used a cheap set of trim pry bars from harbor freight made out of plastic. I tried to be patient and triple checked as I kept missing bolts, but I only broke three clips.

The silass sound deadening is OK. It smells f***ing horrible for the first few weeks but then it gets better.

The bottle jack was what I ended up using. Unfortunately I just had the oem one and you really need one that goes taller.

Also, I used the aluminum harbor freight floor jack and at the risk of opening myself up for criticism that thing is a widow maker for anything other than basic oil

If the smell is really bad, roll ALL the windows down/sunroof open whenever you have it in the garage and also whenever possible or as weather permits, drive with ALL the windows/sunroof open to circulate all those particulates out. Odor is a particulate, the more particulates you can remove from your interior, the sooner it'll get better.

I found once it got really hot a few times out in the sun it improved quickly. Now its totally fine.

My next projects are going to be, in no particular order:

Another round of that cheap light sound dampening material. I think I am going to do under the second row and front. It has made a huge difference already, so trying to get rid of some localized noisy spots where I haven't done any and I may end up using some magnetic material, as well, behind the door cards.

I bought edge trim so I can start trimming the front and rear bumper. I am not going to touch the running boards until they get f-ed up. Then I will order sliders. Most of the terrain I go over doesn't require a lot of break over as much as approach and departure. I know that will change when I move.

I think I am going to construct a cabinet for the spare tire to sit in on the floor of the back and convert it to a drawer when finances allow for the Expedition One single swing that integrates with the door, as I agree with a lot of the others that a dual swing would be a PITA. If it's another 2 years down the road ND the JWs are still doing well and they have started using better coatings, that may be a possible route as well.

Either way, when the tire no longer loves there I can male a drawer for it, or delete it.

I am in the process of mentally tetrising 3/4" EMT together in my head to tackle all my interior storage needs. I figure I can do it for cheaper and lighter than about any other option. I will probably get something like a raingler meshed webbing to work with it and maybe some molle panels. I did figure it would make constructing the spare tire storage signifcantly simpler and I should be able to build everything inside for both less money and more capability.
 
Alignment scheduled for Tuesday with Merril Axle.
List of things to do in my que that I have parts for(in no particular order):
Black lugnuts
Bumper Cutting(I have two different sizes of edge trim to choose from as well as plenty of 3m masking tape)
Oil Change
Renew wool wax in frame rails

Remove air diverter and shape my Jeep Grille liner to act as a basic guard for that gap
In the bumper to my ARB skids. I had an expanse martian flag made and have been trying to figure out how to get it in the GX and have given up so it's random steel perforated sheet that can be shaped to act as a minimal guard against protrusions into the radiator from below.

I have also not extended my breathers yet. That's on the mid term to do list.

I also need to do an oil change on the 4Runner, hit it with wool wax and install the ARB Skids.

Depending on what Toyota decides to build for the market as a LC replacement may disrupt things by ditching the T4R in favor of a new GX or LC.

I dropped my rear arb skid and the kdss cover. It was completely packed full of mud that had lithified into a rock.

Another long car wash and I think things are good. So much dirt, it must be lighter now.😆

Tip: avoid mud... ;)
Used to love bashing through every mud hole on a trail, then got tired of trying to clean all the rock solid mud the next weekend.

Yea there are way more nooks and crannies in the GX then there was on my 83 Pickup.

This is also the first time I have properly dropped the skids since putting them on a year ago.

Done a few more things:
Cheap black door handle covers
Interior tiedowns just to hold things in place while driving and having dogs walking on them.
Cut the rear bumper a bit to match my front bumper cut.

The one thing I have been looking for and can't find it replacement door moldings that aren't chrome. The ones about 6" up from the bottom of the door. I would love to find something that was rubberized and a smooth shape without the step in where the chrome strip is. They may just have to get rhino lined or something with a rough eniught texture to not see the inset.

Still in the engineering stage. 😄

Took a cheap Prime day cargo cover.

Bought some 3/4" EMT

Then I ordered some parts and pieces fromTink Tube and made this. I do plan on running some legs down somewhere to tie in to the floor and probably some variation of a diagnosis brace between legs.

I was going to just order a shelf and molle panels then just decided to try my hand at making it myself for pennies on the dollar.

Also should help keep the weight down.

I will admit, a sun shade tarp may have been something better to start with

Just bought 2 more sticks of EMT, 2 1x4x6s and 1 1x6x6 and a piece of 2'x4' x1/2" plywood

I have a bunch more pics if anyone wants to see what I did. Lots of titebond #3 and rated screws. Also lots of engineered ply mixed with 1x pine. Everything is tied into existing seat tie in points so should be engineered to hold the wait of the tire.

It does! I sized it for up to a 37, because you gotta have life goals. 😄

It pulls out relatively easily if I need to put the second row in and should allow us to pack up with a lot of stuff, leave lots of room for the dogs, while leaving almost everything accessible.

I also wanted to make sure I had something that could help keep the tire contained in the event of a crash or a roll. I do plan on keeping the tire strapped down, just to be safe.
