In other news, the Revos may be going on the 4Runner and I may get something more aggressive. Not sure which, but most likely a 285/70R17. G003 MTs are high on the list as well as their new XD commercial tire and some of the other new inbetween hybrid Mud/AT tires.

I’m a big fans of the now Mickey Thompson hybrid tire I think it’s the something exp. I had them on my last rig and will be getting them again in the future. 50k tread life and super aggressive, but have highway manners and syping. But like any aggressive tire, after about 20-30k miles they get louder. I like to sell at this point on the marketplace and re-up.
My current k02s need swapping, both in mileage and I’m not a fan, I got them used for a smokin deal just as a stop gap to doing the work needed for a larger tire and will be upgrading soon.

First road trip with the Revos didn't do scientific mileage just went by the computer(I know they are inaccurate) 19.2 for the tank and 20.6 when I capped my speed at 65 mph.

We are doing a trip next weekend in the Driftless area and that will really be the determining factor. If I wait 48-96 hours to hit the B roads after it rains the Revo 3s are sufficient. I just kind of miss the confidence of having the MTRs and that I was the weakest link. We learned to avoid fresh mud and thankfully didn't need a recovery, just a lot of patience.

I do like that with the Revos it rides really really well.

Getting more confidence in drying conditions and it also doesn't pack mud in every orifice.

Blacked out vanity plate has been approved.
IH8MUD was taken so I did ILVMUD

Mud on the boots is just the splash back from the car wash. I know y'all have been there if you have actually got your rig properly dirty.

I know a few times i ended up with it all over, head to toe. Apparently I had a very good time. :D

Don't forget a rack to mount those Maxtrax on! ;)
I like the tall skinny tires, it won't ruin your MPG as much nor should get as much rubbing on the inside of your wheel wells.
Did you purchase 4 or 5 of those steelies? If four, you may want to go back and get the fifth for your spare.
I still have not used the generic mantras, I turned them into an impromptu tailgate for my little cubby where my spare tire lives as well as all my tools and recovery gear.

I split my recovery gear into GI laundry bags(failed inspection so cheap) I had it in an A Bag or Mobility bag, but that made it too bulky.

My little shade tree rear ceiling rack and storage area / tire containment device worked well on the trip. I built it to be able to take up to a 37" tire so I may end up drilling a different set of holes for my 33s to get more room in the passenger cabin or making a simple platform with tie downs for the tire, in case I want to take more than 1 person anywhere.

I want to make sure I have good winch access so I am going to wait until I get a bumper with full tube work.

I had briefly considered getting a hidden winch mount or a DV8 bumper but I really want something like the Expedition One, or an ARB with the single swing Expedition One rear bumper that integrates with the rear door.

Have an issue and haven't had a ton of time to further troubleshoot. Will follow up as I do have time.

My stereo has no volume control and it acts if the amp isn't even there.

No codes or warnings. I hope a critter didn't get into my wiring harness.

I am pretty sure my amp is bad. Will try pulling the cable loose on the battery, though, and see if a full reset fixes it, if not I will use my fluke to verify power.

Have not looked at amp yet, drove over some washboard at about 40 mph and it started working again.

Toyota heal thy self. 🫠

Before the amp started working again I removed a bunch of stuff that was shoved under the seat.

The amp has not cut out again.

As posted elsewhere, I installed the Rad Rubber front fender liners. As Borat would say, "Very Nice!"

I may try to modify my rear tire platform to see if I can get the second row seats in it. I should be able to push it back a decent amount.

Yeah, even if it goes back how it was it needs to be cleaned out. This was underneath a few different layers.

All clean after a vacuum and drive on the Interstate with all the windows down and sunroof open. Will be putting second row in after a brief siesta.

All done for v.2 of my rear platform. Undeleted second row.

Assuming I don't have any sciatica tomorrow, I will put in the DR KDSS switch and maybe test it on Des Moines pot holes, among other things. 😂

It's how cops know someone is drunk, because they are driving straight and not swerving around the potholes.
