I find it interesting that in Saudi they dress up the trucks but don't adda ny suspension or slightly bigger tires for playing in the sand. Why is that?

See pictures 1-3-4 and you'll notice a special Sand Tires they call them (Ballon) these tires wont let the vehicle to dig deeper in the sand, and about suspension lift actually it is not very important for sand than Rocks, but there is some people in the middle east (Gulf) who equip their Land Cruisers with suspension lift specially for travelling.

Note: reduce the tire air in any kind of tire and you'll play good in sand.

Thanks

It'd be nice to fill up a container of HZJ pick up parts in Saudi and send them over here:)

thanks KING OF THE HILL for the pics and Ishobie

The tray tub. Factory tray with the tailgate that says TOYOTA. Basically all the steel bolted to the chassis from the back of the cab to the rear of the car :)

I HAVE NO IDEA why canadians seem to like these. Dropside trays are -far- more practical and stronger and hold more as they don't have wheel arches in them!

Factory 75/79 series tubs have small wheel arch allowances and actually scrub more than dropside trays lifted on a set of 2 inch blocks or similar.

But you know, to each their own.

People generally want what they can't have:) But I am making a trayback for mine I hate wheel wells and heavy steel beds. I also need to shorten the box up from 8 feet to 7 feet to give me a little more clearance.

Agree with those comments, although the factory trays look good. We get a lot of alloy decks here. Awful things, everything goes black, everything slides around, they tend to be very light (read weak) and tend to crack. beams underneath are weak. I like the factory boxes, but how do you stop them getting damaged if you cart things around or throw stuff on them. Heres my truck with deck.

Hi Welby,

I am going to be building a deck like yours soon, would it be possible to get some more pics of your deck? Pics without the sides, around the taillights, cross members underneath, and front headache rack?

Is yours made of aluminum?

Your help would be appreciated!

Will post some pics as soon as we get a decent day, and I have the time to find the camera. Frame is galvanised box section steel, with oregan oiled timber. Crusher wants some pics to so will post them here (https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=159934) when I get them. Am away Saturday (Its Friday here now) but will try and get some pics Sunday and post them. Do you want measurements as well.??

Measurements are not important - mine is the older model so I will build to suit my needs.

Thanks very much.
