Here’s the video of the install of the Terrain Tamer lift. I filmed to do a time lapse so sorry if it’s a little boring. I will film video soon driving and reviewing the suspension.
Thank you, I plan to have a local shop check the alignment once I finish I finish the steering, I will make sure they check that as well and order some shims if needed.Recommend checking the axle/wheel castor after adding any lift to see if you need to add any shims. You want +2 on the front with “skinny” tires and up to +5 with oversized tires so that it tracks true. Typically shims are also needed on the rear axle as well to help re-align the rear drive shaft to keep the angles in balance.
The Terrain Tamer springs may have been designed/engineered not to need the shims, but I didn’t see that mentioned anywhere that I could find in their literature. This might be a good question for Georg @orangefj45
There is nothing an alignment shop can do on a 40 that you can’t do at home with your own tools. Well, more or less.Thank you, I plan to have a local shop check the alignment once I finish I finish the steering, I will make sure they check that as well and order some shims if needed.
I believe we sent you a set of our billet steel 4 degree caster shims. We install these on every 40/45/55/60/70-series with 2” lift springs and slightly extended shackles.Thank you, I plan to have a local shop check the alignment once I finish I finish the steering, I will make sure they check that as well and order some shims if needed.
Feel free to give me a call and I’ll be happy to chat about axles, gearing, suspension and other mods/upgrades you’re considering for your cruisers.I have been so on the fence about these Terrain Tamer springs. I will be doing all kinds of work with swapping differentials and axle rebuilds. It makes for the argument whether to go with the new spring bushing and rebuild from there or replace the springs with these. I don’t want to have a $40,000.00 Land Cruiser as a result of all of these modifications. Sure as hell getting close
I did the 4 degree shims from Georg last summer. Of all the things I did last year, might have been the best upgrade I did last year.I believe we sent you a set of our billet steel 4 degree caster shims. Typically the 4 degree shims will bring caster to “3 degrees positive” which we’ve found to work great on cruisers.
Happy to help!

It’s amazing how much those shims help ….I did the 4 degree shims from Georg last summer. Of all the things I did last year, might have been the best upgrade I did last year.

Big thanks to @Trigger6 for letting me come see his Cruisers and dig through his spare parts. I now have a lot of spares to take along on the trip in case something breaks. He also generously donated a windshield…so no mare cracked glass in the videos!!!

This. Do it yourself…these trucks are super easy to set. Even if you are “kinda-close”There is nothing an alignment shop can do on a 40 that you can’t do at home with your own tools. Well, more or less.
You can easily measure your caster with your phone and a longish straight edge.
They sponsored me with new brakes! That is cool to BTB and Man a Fre jumped on board. You do not see or hear form them much on this forum. Did they help you out with those items?
