Well, I just watched that CBS Sunday Morning episode on the McPherson restoration school. 8+ minutes of totally cool. Never knew about this.
Highly recommend the summer school classes. The first week is mostly hands-on instruction.. and if you sign up for a second week, you can work on your own project with some of the most skilled professionals/professors in the world there to mentor. The last summer I attended, there were at least 15 states and 4 foreign countries represented. Some old, some young, some father/wife or son or daughter…. makes for a nice xmas gift 😉. (unfortunately, I think all of the summer 2025 intro sessions are sold out)

@50peaks - apologize for hijacking your thread again but I have my marketing hat on 😎

8 days, over 2000 miles, 5 states, 6,000 feet of elevation change, and a million smiles. Sunflower did amazing and made it the whole way without once leaving me stranded and taking second place in the rally. Can’t wait to share all the stories but for now a shower and a good night sleep.

Do you want to come back on the podcast to do a recap of the whole trip and some of the stories that you gained.

Finally I had a little free time to edit some pictures and post.

This was a really cool stop that we stumbled upon by accident after taking a random dirt road (I was tired of driving on I-40) This is an original and untouched part of original Route 66 that is owned by a nonprofit organization. The only way to access this is to call a number on the gate and request a code. This was definitely one of my favorite stops I could feel the history I was driving on. The store was partially restored back to its original design.

If you want to hear about @50peaks came on the podcast again to talk about the trip.

Take a few minutes to watch this amazing documentary about our journey down Route 66. This film was done by fellow Land Cruiser enthusiasts and professional photographer Blake Swingle. Give him a follow on social media or look at his portfolio Blake Swingle - https://www.blakeswingle.com/

What a great watch, a great film and a great bunch of people!
The line at the end says it all, 2000 miles and a lifetime of stories, but the great news is you guys are just getting started. Keep it up!

Fun vid, props to the filmmakers. I know what goes into this type of thing.
A couple takeaways:
- I thought Casey was getting a cameo? saw his place though.
- Why did Texas Sun play when showing Arizona?
- The film photographs y'all took are probably the best souvenirs you could've gotten. Gems.

Inspiring, I'm ready for a trip.

I counted @POTATO LAUNCHER's Land Cruisers as his cameo
