Interesting for me to reflect the strongest affection for toyota I have encountered was in the apy lands, bang center, can't get further from the coast in any direction. The Anangu, the people, typically pitjantjatjara or yankunytjatjara sometimes warlpiri. Out there your car needs to be reliable to say the least, troopies are the norm for any community vehicle.
The elders would say at least make it toyota as they are all brothers and sisters.
Troopy being preferred for many reasons. You can carry the tribe and a couple roos for the barbecue and hose the blood out after. Everyone smiling.

Bringing it to Sydney makes me think of the larrikan rascal 'rake', which I think the characters are brilliantly oz. 'I am not a cannibal, I am an economist!'

Nice to watch you make it happen, it won't be cheap!

Hats and stickers would be nice too.
Great logo, looking forward to seeing the film.
Thanks very much. Stickers available!

Thanks mate! Not cheap, not easy - but what a ride!

Howdy everyone,

For anyone not following on Instagram or Facebook, I want to share an update. Much happening during the Christmas break but we’re back into the swing of things.

Thanks to everyone to shared links and information to help our film get made! It’s the small things that always add up to a big impact. So thank you.

And thanks to everyone that pledged their hard earned money to keep us moving forward. A couple of individuals really dug deep. They are Michael Blake and Norman Buggles. I’ve chatted with Michael significantly over the years. He’s a massive Cruiser head and absolute gentleman. Thanks mate! Unless he uses an online handle, I haven’t met Norman. If you’re out there mate, thank you very much!

Unfortunately, we didn’t reach our target. We hit about $9k AUD, netting us about $6.5k after merch and shipping costs. Fortunately, we will still proceed! A local engineering firm owned by Cruiser head Adam Doyle pledged $5k, my partner Melissa pledged $5k and I’ll make up the gap to bring the total to around $30k. Post Sup Martin is negotiating with sound, colour and music artists to get everything done within the new budget. We have a colour grader in LA who’s going to fit us in between other jobs and a well-known Aussie musician on the Sunshine Coast in Qld who’s onto the music. These two boxes are ticked as a direct result of your help!

Merch is all boxed and ready to ship. I’ll send it out this week.

Thanks again to everyone for everything and I’ll try update here more often!

Cheers 🍺

Dan Green

It is an honor to help where I’m able mate. I only wish it could have been more.

Hey folks,

Had a couple of health and life hurdles but back on deck now! Quick update:

 colour grade made it through the gatekeeper with ease
 sound design has picked a good line and is about to throttle out
 VFX and CGI are at camp and have just cracked their first beer
 music is at home swapping out street tyres for 37's

We've entered into Sydney Film Festival with plans to world premiere there but won't know til early May. Also Melbourne Film Festival which is in August. We'll start looking at some overseas festivals shortly.

Thanks again to everyone for their support. It means the world!

Dan :D

Dan,
I’m sorry to hear about your health issues. Glad to know you’re back on track. I am looking forward to the final copy.

It's done! Hard to believe that after nine long years, $350k, three girlfriends, two friendships and my hairline - the dream has been recognised! Eggs were cracked during the making of this omelette.

To celebrate this outback road movie we're going to hold a film festival under the stars in one of the iconic outback towns we shot in, a lil place called Tilpa - pop. 9. It's about a 14h drive west of Sydney. The annual Long Drive For Drought will be passing through Tilpa the night of the festival so there'll be fifty plus dusty 40 series Cruisers on deck. This is the official world premiere, though due to sheer distance all the fanfare will happen at the Sydney premiere sometime in Sep/Oct. After that it's onto a limited theatrical release, then onto domestic free-to-air and streamers. Some offers are starting to come in, which will be nice to see incomings rather than outgoings!

As for international distribution, that will occur sometime next year. I really, really want to get the film to all you Mudders but there's a bit of trade friction right now that will make for an interesting ride.

I want to express my sincere gratitude to everyone on here for all their help and support, especially Michael Blake. Been a helluva ride.

Will update with details once I have them.

Cheers!
