Has anyone tried the Michelin MS2 in green X compound?
They make a 285-70-17 I might be interested in for the summer when traveling long distances instead of running the KO2s all the time.

That's best on road tire. I have my eye on that. Costco has $70 off on a set of four right now.

If you plan to do any serious off roading I would highly recommend the 17s. I have 18s and the side walls are just too weak when you air down to like 20 psig. I need to change mine out someday.

BTUMAN, what size tire are you running now?

I'm running the largest tire you can and not rub (a little on flaps on hard turns until you cut them). They are 275-70R18. I understand the TRD Rock Warriors will work with the break size. Goodyear DuraTracs.

Thanks, that's what I have as well, but yours just looked a lot bigger for some reason (There's a that's what she said joke in there somewhere). I'm stressing myself out with trying to figure out what tire I want to go with after the lift...lots of tire kicking, but no tire buying.

that's what she said:) A lot of times how big a tire looks has more to do with the wheel width and offset than it does with the actual tire size...

Preach it, Kreiten.

Thought I would put a quick review of my new tires.
I put a set of Yokohama Geolander ATs 285/60/18s on one the LCs and the other has the OEM Michelin high performance tires in the same size. The notice the actual size difference is really kind of extreme. The Geolander's measure out setting on the vehicle about 1/2" taller and close to an inch wider. They look totally different on then the OEM tires on LCs. The new Geolander's really ride and drive nice too, much smoother riding then the Michelins. Very pleased so far.

Quick update on the Michelin Latitude Tour HPs in 305-50-20 on our LX570 with OEM rims: I noticed some rubbing at full lock while cycling the suspension when I drove over some ruts. Not sure if this would cause a problem while off roading since you would probably ride in "high" mode. I noticed the rubbing in the "medium" height setting.

@MScruiser, I am running BFG Lt285/70/17 KO2 on trd rock warrior rims. Stock suspension, 44 psi, no rubbing. mud flap still on. They don't stick out. Rims are 8" wide and +50mm offset.

@Atwalz when I had my 35/12.5/17 KO2 at 44 psi, only the center portion of the tire was actually making contact with the pavement. Not sure about long term wear and what actual effect it may have on unevenness, but I did opt to lower the PSI for better contact. Just passing along my experience.

What rim width were you running that 12.5 wide tires on? Might be something to do with that. Gaijin our tire expert should chime in.

I believe he's running the same wheel we are....rock warriors

I saw a door sticker somewhere here that recommended 44 psi. Let me do some research on that.

It's 46 psi. I am 2psi shy.

Wouldn't that be the air pressure recommendation for a Tundra Rock Warrior?

yes
