I am thinking of putting my 100 series up on jack stands for a few days to look into a noise in my brakes and was thinking of using that time to swap out the stock wheels and tires on my LX570 to get an idea as to the look of the 18s with Duratracs.

Just checking, but I should have not issues with this swap, correct?

You may actually have some trouble!

I had the 18" 100 series wheels with duratracs installed, and the front wheels actually hit my calipers when I drove!:eek::eek: (It luckily did not hurt anything, but scared the **** out of me.

The only way you will be able to use them is with spacers (at least from my "Oh sh**" experience.

These are 2010 Tundra wheels with the Duratracs, but I think they have the same offset as the 100 series wheels. I have been running them on my 2002 for 4 years now with no problems and was thinking that the 200 would have similar clearance. I guess that I may be wrong on that. I am planning a trail run this weekend and was thinking that I would take the LX with the Tundra wheels, running 33s to see how the truck does. Should I be sticking with the Cruiser or taking the LX, but sticking with the 20" rims and flabby tires?

I'd just try the 18" Tundra wheels on one side of the front while your truck is on the lift or jack. You will find out pretty quick if they rub or not. I can assure you that the 100 series 18" wheels DO RUB.

That sounds like a very good idea. Thanks.

So I was doing some research into the various wheels and found the following:
2010 Tundra wheels have a 29mm positive offset (the ones on my 2002 LC)
2010 Lexus wheels have either a 45mm or 60mm positive offset
2008 LX470 or LC have 60mm offset
2002 LC wheels have 32mm offset.

How do you measure the offset on the actual wheel? I was thinking of dropping my spare on the LX and checking to see what is actually on the truck.

So in any case, my Tundra wheels probably will NOT fit without spacers, which bums me out a bit.

Also, for those who do not want 20" rims, I guess Lexus does make an 18" for the LX570, as seen here

Although I would NOT want chrome, nor want to pay that price, if possible. I may check with the local dealer to see if they can actually get them in (non-chrome version) and at what price. Once a get the part number, I may then start searching for them elsewhere.

there's also lots of youtube videos on how to go about figuring these numbers.

Thanks Willy! This makes me wonder why MScruiser's wheels hit his calibers when using the 100 series rim. Hmmm:hmm:

No idea, but I can take pictures of the calipers that still have a bit of the aluminum from the wheels stuck on the outside of them where they hit, if you don't believe me.

Nah, it's not a matter of believing you, it's the engineer in me scratchin his head wondering. Plus, trying to think it through before I start pulling wheels. ;)

Wouldn't a set of the new BFG A/T KO2's in 275/55/20 on your Lexus OEM wheels handle about anything you would run into on the trail?

Maybe? BUT, I am not a fan of the 20" rims - aesthetically, plus I do air down and would like more sidewall.

posted pics on another thread earlier today, just a mock up teasing me for the upcoming build...2007 tundra stock wheel with 305/65 Falken tire.
fit great, but maybe a little too wide for this rig.... mock up 305 65 18 no lift.jpg Please notice the jack handle sticking out the front...i had limited time and only put on one wheel. Not planning on running these tires so I didn't try turning to see what would hit...probably should have. (hindsight 20/20)

I don't post much anymore but figured I'd add to the database. Thanks for keeping this updated. It helped me with my research.

no rubbing so far. springs may settle a bit after more mileage

After 1500 miles on the lift, both on and off pavement, the springs have settled a bit and I'm not rubbing on the KDSS arm at full lock right turn in reverse. Through my driveway gutter. Not much but noticeable. Going to add a 1/4" spacer and see what that does.

Hey MSCruiser, can you put me in the database?

Toyota Tundra TRD Rock Warrior rims

Cooper Discoverer AT3's - 285-70-17

OME Heavies up front with Slee UCA's

OME Heavies out back

Thanks!!

Rigger, you also need to give me all of the other info on the chart. I need to know PSI, rubbing, rubbing locations, drive quality, impressions, etc. Look at the chart and see what is missing, and then let me know.
