This. I finally bookmarked one … Far too many “where is it” and “here it is” posts in here. 🙄
I bookmarked it, but anyone who is looking for the first time will ask the question... There is an edit button for posts, so why not edit the first post and add the link? It seems obvious but maybe there's a good reason... : )

Does anyone know if these are OEM or simply painted Tundra wheels? Might be able to get the answer from @LFDOffRoad as it's the pictured LX on their website. They appear more grey than black and like the look of them.

Hey, that's my LX. They're Tundra Trail Edition wheels, they come in that grey. Its almost the MGM paint color.

I've got BFG HD Terrains on them now

Just installed 2015 LC wheels on my 2013 LX with Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 LT 285/65 R 18. No rubbing, just absolutely barely clears control arms, flaps and plastics. Perfect fit if you don't want to modify (that said, my mech did adjust camber a bit in anticipation of bigger wheels, so perhaps that saved me). The tires are 32.8". $275/tire from Discount Tires (price matched to Amazon). Thanks a ton to everyone who provided input and for all the existing info on Mud (@TeCKis300 @gaijin @bloc

Anybody tried these Icon Recon Pros yet? Good looking wheels & specs work nice for what I'm looking for in a 17. Their DOT approved "inner lock" technology sounds interesting. Potential leak source? The replaceable outter ring is nice too. Anybody run the Rebound Pros for a while with any leaks?

Nice. Looks like you're all set for your trip!

Well…. 4 hours after getting home PSI in FR dropped to 24 from 37. Discount closed early so I pumped up to 36 and it has held. They suggested to bring it in so tomorrow I’ll take it and have them inspect. Maybe the valve got a bit stuck open and my inflating settled it?

Do you have a valve stem tool. Always good to double check they are tight, especially after a leaky tire episode.

I don't, and I've never used one. I'm pretty green about vehicles and tires, but am learning. I'll take it back to them and watch them inspect it, etc.

I just hope it isn't the wheel itself, but it seems more likely it's the valve stem.

Grab yourself a kit like this. Keep it somewhere in the truck. It's very simple. The valve stem has a core in it that is the pin for the schrader valve and the rubber seal. This kit has the tool and some spare valve cores. It just screws in (not sure what the torque specs are, but just firm is good, don't overdo it). One end of that tool goes over the top of the pin and grabs a couple teeth and it spins the core in and out. It's not uncommon for them to come loose.

It's been on my to-do list to educate myself on basic tire repair... I'm hoping a local indy will put on a weekend 101 class (discussing it with him) that will cover stuff like this plus common failure points on a 200/LX.

YouTube is your friend. Just be careful and try to watch at least a few videos on the same subject to make sure it's not some complete idiot doing something completely wrong. At about 0:45 he shows how to use the valve stem tool to remove and/or tighten a valve core.

Turned out to be a lose valve stem. They tightened it and good to go. They took the wheel off, checked for leaks around wheel, etc. Chatted with them about best practices for patching in an emergency, how to identify a valve leak, etc. 45 minutes well spent!

Thank you so much. I appreciate the information
I just bought a 2010 LX that came with a street set up 305 40 R22s on 10" wheels with 35 offset. I'm thinking of dropping to 18's and was looking at Defenders in 275 65 R18. The 305s barely clear now at full lock so the extra 1/2" seems to guarantee a rub without some melt work or other mods. Can you describe your experience with 275 Defenders?, you said the ride seems better on the 285 65 Toyo's. Thanks

It depends on the offset, if you are using OEM wheels in 18" then should work, it's just slightly bigger than stock.. Starting at +40mm it could starts to rub. (RyanCA told me.. he has a LC) The less offset pushes out the wheel and it needs more clearance to get the steering to clear.

In my research on here and search for tires on my 2013 LX, I created the below matrix. This is based on comments here and in the Google Sheets database. It is not an absolute so do your own research! But I thought it might help some folks.

Note:
  • This assumes stock wheel offset
  • Actual tire height can vary fractionally so check the manufacturer's stated size.
  • Tires have different cross-sectional curvatures (I just made that term up) (i.e., 90 degree vs sloping) according to Discount Tires, so that could be another nuanced fitting factor between brands in the same size.
  • This may not apply to a 2016+ LX (mine is a 2013) as I am not sure if the plastics and control arms are identical to pre-2016. It also may not apply perfectly to the LC, but at least the tire heights are useful.
I'm happy to revise the notes or add more detail if the experienced folks have suggestions/advice. I can also set this up as a Google Sheet if desired. Just want to offer something up that may be useful in exchange for other's help here.

hello, sorry to be asking this but I cannot find the spreadsheet. It's not on the first page or the last. i've searched a while and not easy to find. Thanks

Anybody have any suggestions on cheap 17" wheels for these things? Almost everything I am finding from Tundras or LC's are at least 18", and the Rock Warrior wheels I've found cost 2x as much as a set of Methods.

Tire rack has a good sale going on for the Alpha Equipt wheels. Unfortunately it looks like all the 35mm off set wheels are sold out. Just the 15mm.
