White Knuckle installation instructions

https://forum.ih8mud.com/attachment...ruiser-installation-instructions-pdf.1046436/

Mine were about 80# each. I got the 2x3 rail (the "Cody" special) but the stock 2x2 rail is probably fine for most people. If I had to do it again I would've gone with the 2x2 just to save the 20-30# since they would've stuck out fine with just the stock rail.
It looks like the KDSS lines are moved a small amount (shims?). How complicated or difficult was the WKO slider install?

Good info here. Fuel wheels get delivered this week... Next is sliders!!

I'm in the same boat as a few - priority is a step out for the kids!! So far my 4 year old has fallen out three times in a month :/... My boys are better about it..

I like the bud built - diamond plate... curious as to the width of the step with the kicker/kickout? Trying to guage how much additional step you get vs. OEM POS :)

Any other width info on other brands? Post any pics with brand and a tape measure?

Much appreciated Gents...
No idea what the factory running boards measure, but the these have plenty of step for very young or very old folks. BudBuilt 120 DOM, full diamond plate. can't say enough good things about this company. So rare to find a small shop that is 100% about quality. And as far as 200 sliders go, def the most stout due to the fact that the mounting plate stretches the entire length of the frame rail. My youngest was 3 when i got these and she never had any issues getting up or down. They do get hot in the AZ summer sun is the only thing, but any metal slider would

Hey! I am looking at these right now! I just had a few questions -- that's the straight and not the kicker design right (I would like the kicker design for the extra protection, but it might look goofy)? Also what did you get for the finish? I was thinking about getting the gloss black.

Get a finish you can touchup with a rattle can. In all reality they will bear scars and scrapes.

That’s a really good point, @RET2 .

Years ago on my 100, I made the mistake of powder coating with a great-looking, but nearly-impossible-to-color-match color for touch ups.
So much easier sticking to satin black as most Bolt-on stuff usually is.

Does anyone have some good angle photos of BudBuilts? I'm about to place an order, but really on the fence for kicker option. The standard style looks really clean, and seem to stick out far enough.

For you guys running ARB front bumpers, have you thought about running the sliders they make with the brush guard that attaches to the front bumper?

IMO, ARBs sliders are not very strong...which is kind of odd, since the bull bars on their front bumper are great. I have seen two kinked/bent ARB slider tubes in person.

On the other hand, other choices can bend too, but not everyone bashed them.

Cool thing about BudBuilt (and I think TT too?) is they’ll build them to specs/strength/weight/top-surface you choose.

I really like the look and had planned to go with the integrated ARB bumper and sliders, but due to their reputation as not being as solid as other offerings I went with BudBuilt step sliders (no bump out). I prefer the added protection offered against other vehicles on road and from all things off road. My 4Runner’s DeMello sliders protected it from a Porsche Panamera once, they are stout enough to easily jack up the side of rig using my Hi-Lift with a special adaptor, and never got close to bending on any rocks. I haven’t tested the LC’s BudBuilts to the extreme yet, but I believe them to be at least as, if not more, sturdy than the DeMellos. If you’re not out there rock crawling, the ARBs may serve your purposes. @cruiseroutfit not only sells ARB but is a customer. He runs them on his 200 and may also have run them on his 100.

I went for the kick out and I’m glad I did.

I have Bud Built sliders w/kick out and was a bit unsure if I liked how far out the kick out went but after using them now for a year or so plus. These sliders were designed to be used hard off road, and then the added convince for the family truckster. The kick out makes for a very stable/wide platform for my self and it allows for my dogs to launch into the back seat with out me having to give them a boost. My lab is almost 100 lbs (our vet says 95 would be just right) so having the kick out has saved a lot of back problems.

For my bad knees and ankles, auto loading dogs, structural integrity, I would do exactly the same if I were to do it over.

Those are SEMA pics of Paul Mays 200 series. I don't have any close ups maybe @sleeoffroad can post some.

More if you are curious. I love having a real step vs. a tube with diamond plate. It's been great for my kids to get in and out of the truck.

I’m ordering too @M1911. What have you found to be the benefit of the kick out? Seems like a nice feature.

Mainly more room for my feet when I need to work on the roof rack. When I go fishing, I put a rod holder up on the rack for my surf rods. Having a larger space makes it easier for me to stand on kick out while getting rods down or putting them back up -- more room for my foot rather than just my toes.

The point of the kick-out is to literally kick your truck away from/around an obstacle once you’ve slid down the length of your slider and reach the back wheel well/fender. It’s “kicks“ outward in order to move your butt clear as you cut in/around the tree, rock, bank, etc. Some prefer kicked sliders...some prefer straight.

If a kick-out had been available when I added sliders, I might have gone that route. That said, my non-kicked sliders have done their job very well in the rocks. Personal wheeling preference thing...

If you are looking for a step surface, some kicked sliders start out narrower toward the front before widening at the kick, so if you are majorly concerned with stepping, you might discover some straight sliders give more top surface front to back.... :meh:

I prefer a straight line vs the kick-out which I generally see as more to get hung up on but I’m sure it has its advantages in some scenarios.

I have a scrapes on the left and right side sliders at the kick out at the most outboard edges just like you described. The scrape on the passenger side goes for about four feet.

The powder coat applied on these are tough and the 120 DOM is still shiny metal with only light rust around the edge that I can clean off with scotch brite. I should have touched it up before winter.

I have then on mine if you want to talk a look. I see we are in the same city. Santa Rosa??

I would love some pictures of them mounted so I can play them on the website. If not no worries, just figured I’d ask.
