My independent mechanic has direct experience with the frame on my 200; other 200 owners do not. I trust my mechanic -- he's won't make money by me buying a new vehicle. In fact, he will lose money when I buy a new vehicle (because I won't be...
The frame on my '03 4Runner rusted to oblivion and had to be replaced. Toyota paid for part of that. The frame on my 2013 200 is rusting enough that my mechanic is telling me to dump it.
So I disagree that the Tacoma frame issue was unique.
The battery warranty is 10 years and 150,000 miles. Longer than my frame lasted on my 2nd Gen Tacoma. We have a Lexus Hybrid and love it. Toyota is using mature battery technology in the LC and know what they are doing with their batteries.
The reason the 250 isn’t called a “Prado” in the USA is because 99.999% of the USA population has never heard of a Toyota Prado and certainly never has seen one.
Everyone in the USA (and world) knows the Landcruiser name.
Prado could be called...
American's don't buy strippers, outside of a fleet/commercial vehicle use. They are the last vehicles sitting on the lot and profit margins are very low.
I certainly like the idea of a stripper 300, but it probably makes little sense for Toyota...
The Tundra team had a large budget. The Sequoia team did not. Toyota had planned to cancel the Sequoia and only agreed to allow Toyota NA to do it with a limited budget.
Ground clearance simply isn’t a major concern for full-size SUVs. People...
If you are talking about the current Sequoia, Toyota USA developed it on a shoestring budget. The bigger miss than the part-time 4WD system is the solid rear axle. This results in terrible third row room compared to its competitors. People buy...
Huh? The Land Cruiser 250 has full time 4WD, with a lockable, limited slip, Torsen center diff and a lo range. It acts as AWD on the road with the center diff unlocked.
Lived in Belgium for 3.5 years and traveled extensively across Europe. I once got a rental car and the agent was very apologetic.
"I'm sorry Sir, but all we is a car with an automatic transmission. Can you drive an automatic?" My response...
I just got a call from my local dealer where I have my LC250 deposit, and they asked me which one I wanted. I told them I wanted a first edition and to my surprise, they told me I was the first one on the list to request a first edition. I am not...

Looks like we may start seeing buttons return again because it went too far.
if any vehicle will keep doing button vs screen mix proper its the Land Cruiser.
LC 250 + LC 300 are doing...
It does need a different grille and the center stack is a hot mess. Hopefully Lexus will resist the wall-to-wall screens that seem to be the rage now (Mercedes EQS, Lincoln Nautilus, Cadillac Escalade IQ, etc.).
I suspect that Toyota detuned the engine when paired with the manual transmission for a reason, and that if you tune for more power you will start breaking things.
After driving my ‘03 4Runner and LC 200 I have no desire for an SUV with a manual transmission. And I drove exclusively manual transmissions for over 25 years.
