front seats fitted and heading off for recovering
fitting rear seat
second battery stand completed
rear drop box completed
front drop box completed
parts off to powder coaters
front and rear speaker boxes/mounts completed

once i get the camera replaced then i will post pics.

work has slowed waiting for parts from Japan.

well i dug out a old camera just for you.

the wife decided she wanted to use her airmiles to buy a couple cameras so who am i to argue?

the second battery stand:
clearence for fuel line, steering rod, injection pump, PS hoses etc etc had to be taken into consideration.

the idea of the rear seat from a JDM 70 series was dropped when the tuffy boxes were situated.
in its place i wandered through the local wreckers with tape measure in hand and after some deep searchign i found the rear seats from a SideKick to be very close.
i stripped the cusions off and test fitted the seats:

i had to have clearence for the rear drop box lid and the room up front to flip the seats forward and clear the back of the front seats...

I like your idea of the split seats better than what I used on my previous truck. I used a fold and tumble out of a mitsubishi montero. It was a perfect fit, but it was all or nothing for rear seating/cargo when you only had three people in the truck.

the brackets, front with 2" X 1/4" metal uppers and 1 1/4" X 3/16" flat for mounting.
the rear was made with 1 1/4" X 3/16" flat with solid pipe for seat mount and 5/16" round for catch.

much stronger than factory.

this is giving the owner the option of different seating arrangements

next was the passenger seat mounts, the factory would not work for the CDM 70 series front seat. i used this seat to match the JDM drivers seat and i needed the ability to slide the seat far ahead to clear the entrance into the back seat. anyone that owns a 40 knows how much of a PITA the factory stationary seat can be when the back door is blocked. set over onto the hump and then into the back over the console. with the tuffy box center and the front facing rear seat this would get old REAL fast.

this gives an idea of the travel of the seat and the room to get in and out of the back...

lots of leg room in the back, more than the JDM 73/74 series close to the 77 series

i need to modify the one bracket on the "new" passenger seat due to interference with the head rest of the rear seat...

like everything else on this unit, the clearences are tight.

notice the rear seat latching to the lid for the rear hidden lid, this entire truck has been a 1/4" to 1/2" fitment.

but when you finally finish a piece of it you feel great satisfaction.

looks good! what color is the interior going to be? will you use a sound deadener on the interior?
I really like the hidden compartment, how much room does it have inside?

there is two hidden compartments, the rear is huge and the front is a about double the glove box size.

fiberglass is VERY quiet already but there is a coating of hippo line going on the inside. the color is army green inside and out with black accents.
