The port you are trying to block off is already closed off by the supercharger intake runner. So no need to do anything there unless you are doing it for looks.

There is a Toyota part number for a clamp that should fit the gates. I will take a look tomorrow.
What is the OD of the gates hose you are using?

15 mm and almost 16.5 over the barbed section.

You can bypass the throttle body without adverse effect. You end up with 2 fewer leak points as well. Preheating the intake air has never been a problem with the supercharged 1FZ.

So, I attempted to put the shroud over the fan and install the radiator but couldn't get that to work. Pulled it back out and removed the fan and shroud. Instructions assume not to touch the radiator for the TRD install but I already had it out to replace the crank and oil pump seals. So, going to try putting the radiator in and then the rest. This is where real estate starts to get really tight with this kit.

The trick is to install the shroud and fan at the same time. Put the fan in the shroud and then install it as an assembly.
Take some thick cardboard and cover the radiator to prevent damage to it during this phase.

Now that the fan is in, I was able to reinstall the headlights, grill and make some progress on the wiring changes of deleting the dual battery system.

It turns out that with the serpentine belt installed the belt tensioner is moved to a spot that the pulley bolt clears the stock fan clutch fan assembly with the .20” spacer as seen in post #307.

I’d look into some HPS silicone caps for what you’re wanting to plug. They’re spendy but will definitely last longer than the crap rubber vacuum caps you’ll get at the local parts store. And bypassing the throttle body coolant lines and capping the small port on the head and the thermostat housing has worked out well for me. The TB sits right over the headers w/ a SC anyway. . .and I’ve driven in -20° and not had an issue with icing that I’ve noticed. Of course there’s a potential for it . . .

Same experience with the parts store rubber caps. Interestingly, I've never had a Toyota rubber cap fail. I just haven't found the part # for this particular size yet. I found a little hose with a bolt and clamp on it that was probably what was used before so that will probably be the current solution so I can focus on other things.

I used to read automotive periodicals regularly and remember a certain editorial titled “Temporary fixes that become permanent” and I’ve gotta say, it kind of defines my life. but you caught me on the right day. The engine bay just got a much needed wash and some minor things lined out that’ve been on my mind. Like checking catch cans and hoses. Had a super dusty weekend trip with the local club up in the Bighorns. One of the members I hadn’t met before has a sweet 1HDT-FTE swapped 80.

Running a 2.8 now and pushing 8psi regularly. 343k 1FZ is taking it like a champ. Got another engine on standby for when it finally gives up.

14mm clamps needed for the Gates hose.

I didn’t like how the original Adel clamps choked down the bypass hose or how the hardware was rusting so replaced with some larger clamps and Toyota hardware. Also moved the foam off the original hose to the replacement.

Wrapping up the plumbing and getting the EGR modulator reinstalled. Dissecting the wiring harness is proving to be a chore with how well it is wrapped at the factory.

I didn’t realize how far back you have to undo. Looks like I’m going to have to remove all of the EGR heat shield I added to get it out far enough to reach.
