I just took a 3.0 to a local Napa machine shop. To clean, resurface the heads and block, hone the cylinders, grind the crank and mic everything is less than 1k. Figure nowadays, most 3.4s are up in mileage where they would need a rebuild anyway. This is an easy motor to rebuild.

Yeah that was my thought with the 3.4 swap. I figure to tear down and rebuild a 3.0 w OEM head gaskets, valve cover gaskets and intake manifold gaskets and get the exhaust down pipe it wouldn’t be more than that and the truck should be ready to go

Man I really shouldn’t browse...
Love it

Seeing all these clean JDM trucks makes me want to get mine running.
Also saw a post in the 2nd gen 4runner mafia group that somone fit 3 car seats across the back, and when I put the extra seats normally in the cruiser back there, they look like theyd fit.
Gotta find the money for an engine and just need to do it, only problem is ac in my 100 series is busted right now so going to try and deal with that first. Urg

Not a ton of updates. Wheeled it out of the driveway About a month ago to swap some nicer wheels on it. Found the driver front wheel to be stuck to the hub. Beat it with a sledge to no avail. Took it out yesterday and wheel is still stuck fast. Driver rear wheel is stuck too 🙄

I did get the front passenger side off and replaced. Based on how bad it was rusted I’m not surprised the driver is stuck.

my son loves to help, but I have to work on the road in front of my house because our garage is tiny. Thankfully we are in a quiet neighborhood, but I still keep a hawk eye on him and take necessary precautions. He wants his own Vest as mine is clearly too big

I had that same problem with the alloy wheels on my '09 Silverado 2500HD. I did some research and found a way to get them unstuck. Pounding on them with a BFH didn't work for me either. Here's a link that shows an easy way:

Good luck!
