I enjoyed all the additional photos! Very pristine truck.

Few comments. Interesting it comes with the 15x7" version wheels. I thought that vintage came with 16x6"... Are you going to miss the split rear seats that your Prado had (and third row)? I have to admit, the LJ78 has fancier seats/interior than the HZJ77. I love the dual e-locker setup you have. I have a rear e-locker, but will eventually put in a front. Thanks to your picture now I know how to drill out the front diff in the instrument cluster picture for a second red LED. Fourth, I recommend 255/85R16 with a mild soft lift.

Thanks for the kind words..... My children are all grown and out of the house so I seriously doubt the rear seats will ever be used. I plan to just drive it for a while before I tinker with the suspension or add a turbo.

I think the 15x7 are standard on the HZJ77 for whatever reason. Mine were the same until I switched to a 16x8 rim. The rear seat is a nuisance but rear prado seats bolt right in. This is what I did. 255/85R16 FTW

Looks clean and pristine. What's your plans for it?

I plan to spend a large portion of my retirement on the Cruiser so I can drive it once a week.

Don't worry my desert dwelling friend, a brand new ARB winch compatible brush bar is sitting in the cargo area of the Cruiser as we speak. What's with you and Onur thinking I'm only going to keep this thing short term?

I agree with both of ya. Seems the only way to improve upon Charles' new 77 is something a LOT newer with coil springs and a steering wheel on the left side of the cabin..... maybe something from the Gulf States (and I don't mean Alabama).

Yes the radio that came in my BJ74 was useless. You'll want something better in there anyway.

Awesome truck you have there, I love the 77s. In hindsight, as much as I LOVE my BJ74 I kinda wish I'd gone for a 77 now. They were already getting very difficult to find in nice shape back in 2007 when I got mine. Mind you, the sweet fully equipped mint 74s were getting hard to find by then too, and HJ61s were all but gone.

Inre suspension, I can only speak of the OMEs. I miss the old aussie made Emus. The newer ones are ok, but really calculate your load before ordering… I have a set of mediums with an extra leaf in my 74 and they've sagged under what's turned out to be a pretty substantial full time load - rear bumper with 35" spare and fuel can swing out, drawer rig with tools and spares, extra 12V battery, Puma compressor.
I need to order up some heavier rears.

FWIW, here's how it looked with OME Mediums with an extra leaf at each corner and worn out 255/85R16s:

and same with 315s - the rear has come down more since this shot:
