More Zoom call shenanigans.

I saw someone had white FJ Cruiser rims on their white cruiser and it looks really sharp. I thought I would give it a bad photoshop attempt. Not sure what I think of white. This is a bad photoshop because my skills aren't great in photoshop, and the colors were quite different.

More options, just killing more time on a webex. Yes I know I cheated and used the front tire/hub on the rear...

What's your choice mud crew?

Silver?

Or a killer Braid white rim $$$

It’s a hard choice, but the white really stands out to me. Has a kind of desert race/Dakar vibe. The black looks much more modern.

Silver……. 😊

I am usually a fan of black wheels, but the white is growing on me.

also was planning on painting mine black, but the white does make for some good contrast against the black. Since we are exact opposites in body and top color, haha.

I agree, I go back and forth on the color. Doesn't help when I have a black top 1/2 the year, white the other 1/2. lol

I really like the white on your rig. Seems to fit really good. I guess with cheap Toyota steelies I could paint for each season....

surprised at all the silver comments, that was like my least favorite color  maybe I need to do so more photoshops lol.

I love the Braid wheels, I don't love the price!

It’s not unlike when your wife says “how do I look in this dress”? Your answer should be “you look good in any dress”.
The same can be said for rims. 😊

Always fun to get the tires rotated. They had me back it out...apparently backing a RHD, diesel 5 speed over lift arms is a lost art. :hmm:

nah, they are cool, they love the cruiser. These Geolanders have been a fantastic tire. Still nice and smooth.

Trying to decide to stay with 255's or bump up to 285/75r17's.

I've got 25,700 miles on them and I'm down to 8~10/32nds left which is 40~50% life span left. I usually sell tires around the 40% range so I've been looking for a size up, which comes with other problems, namely the rims/spacers.

My 255's measured out to 32.6" new, I don't have the actuals on the 285's...

285/75-17255/85-16
Diameter inches (mm)33.83 (859.3)33.07 (839.9)-0.76 (-19.4) -2.3%
Width inches (mm)11.22 (285)10.04 (255)-1.18 (-30) -10.5%
Circum. inches (mm)106.28 (2699.57)103.88 (2638.62)-2.4 (-60.95) -2.3%
Sidewall Height inches (mm)8.42 (213.75)8.53 (216.75)0.12 (3) 1.4%
Revolutions per mile (km)596.15 (370.43)609.92 (378.98)13.77 (8.56) 2.3%

There are more tires available in the 17" range. Seems like they are slowly closing down the 16's as well.

255/85r16 = $331/tire
285/75/r17 = $307/tire

I paid $200/tire when I got these a couple of years ago. I'm definitely leaning more towards the 285's, as I have flares and it would fill that out a little better. I will probably watch to see which tire places have the best sale and then jump on the 285's, rims and spacers.

The Wolfhound is thoroughly bored with this conversation...

You've got the Geolander M/T's right? You say they are still nice and smooth. Has the road noise gotten louder? I just ditched my KM2's because they were getting louder as time went on.

Yep, still running the Geolander M/Ts. I love these tires. Thats the tire I'm going to get again, just in a bigger size which causes me to go up to the 17" size.

They are still pretty quiet, much much quieter and smoother than BFG's I've had even after 25K miles. Highly recommend these tires.

Not shown, but try Photoshopping the wheels in a graphite gray.

Or just get the Braids. 👍

I laughed when I saw your mockups. I’ve been doing the same thing. Lol.
My wheels are Porsche Graphite Blue (which is a dark grey with a hint of blue in certain lighting). I'm continually pleased with their look on the Troopy.
