Toyota black FIPG?
I didn’t think you were supposed to use 103 on coolant? Maybe I was reading wrong about that
Aaaaaand that gasket didn’t work.

So I might get another type of gasket material and put RTV on both sides.
Which RTV to use? I don’t think FIPG is correct for coolant.
That housing looks very similar to the coolant outlet on the cylinder head of a VW TDI. They use an o-ring to seal against the head, looks like the groove in yours would fit an o-ring great with a little cleanup.
Nice work, amazed you did all that so cheaply.
While your hands are still oil I'd be tempted to put that gasket on, or maybe at the next oil change.
As they say, timing is everything!
LMK when! It’s amazing when you have the timing right, they fire right up

LMK when!
A full day…Day of cruiser…
I’m haven’t really gotten a chance to drive it since the repairs since I’ve been out of town a lot. Well today I had to run a ton of errands and what better for stop and go traffic, busy city and a ton of stops than a diesel Land Cruiser?
Fire it up man! Cold weather start, off and running at 8 to a grocery store. Then 40 miles south to Boulder, CO to drop my guitar off at Woodsongs Lutherie. My headstock snapped on my favorite acoustic….she will be there a month and back to new(ish) for a guitar I’ve owned almost 30 years.
The drive from Boulder to Lyons is right on the foothills. It’s nearly 50 today, snow gone until a big storm tomorrow. Chugging right along

anyways, no sooner did I walk in when someone said: thats really a really cool
Cruiser. I used to drive Hilux when I was in New Zealand for a couple years. What’s the difference between it and the cruiser.
Me ecstatic to talk cruisers: Well you see (continues to explain the overbuilt superiority of the Land Cruiser over the hilux and prado …)
His wife or girlfriend says all excited :so you come here to feel like home? When did you move to the United States:?

I had every intention of dropping every Aussie phrase I knew, in a terrible accent and Mick Dundee’ing my way into these people’s hearts full bogan style but then I remembered the owner was a true Aussie and it just felt wrong to me.
So I had to explain I’m a Coloradan (which you have to explain here anymore that you aren’t from Cali or Texas) and it was just imported from Australia. They thought it was cool, but my moment to shine faded away.
I bought a Tucker pie for later, A nice pulled brisket slow cooked & marinated in beer + vegemite. some Tim tams and a flake bar and slowly walked out the door humming men at work songs.
Next stop, the alpaca farm to finish a roofing project I was working on. Here’s a picture of a baby earlier this summer. Cute creatures that make the strangest noises

Then I was hungry but was saving my tucker pie for the road tomorrow. In-n-out it is. Grabbed a quick burger and on to the next 2 stops. Don’t mind the duck mobile in the background.

Always enjoy talking cruisers and hanging out. Thanks for the food TJ! @PabloCruise and I have been friends and cruiser buddies since the early 2000s when he was all over my old 55 outside a store in Ft Collins. Fast forward and he has an amazing 55.
Logged quite a few hours in the cruiser and
She ran great.
