We will do more troubleshooting tomorrow ( today was a holiday )
however the points are sticking in the regulator ( you can hear them clicking) and there is a constant voltage draw from the regulator all of which lead us to suspect the regulator.

Internal issue with the alternator ( faulty diode ) which will be corrected shortly. Next issue is a blown exhaust manifold gasket ( or gaskets )
which sounds like a flock of woodpeckers under the hood during acceleration.:)

one thing leads to another apparently

There is light at the end of the tunnel however the tunnel has been longer than anticipated.:) If I wanted to work on something every week I would have kept one of my Land Rovers. The good news, by the time I am done the only "old thing" on the truck will be the driver.

I found fishing and hunting to be a lot more interesting than school. I may have issues with "set" or "sit" but I will never go hungry.:D
 
Two to three weeks? Wow, back in Washington my re-builder would always have mine done in two days max... find a smaller shop

No worries...ATC doesn't care what language you speak poorly. Just as long as you speak Inglish reasonably well.

I love listening to the ATC at JFK or LHR...and the crazy conversations between the tower and the non-Inglish speaking pilots...

Try going into Paris where half of the conversations are in French and the other half are in French - accented English.:) Hands down the most interesting experience flying in Europe. The most common phrase heard in the cockpit....."what did they say."

This is a common case for 2H.:D
Time to go for Turbo:steer: or 12HT:bounce:
 
Try sailing thru the Med especially near the shipping lanes...It's the most interesting chatter/jibberish I've ever heard on a radio. All we kept saying in the wheelhouse was wtf did he just say. Maybe this is why the cruise just ran aground in Italy?

:lol: I fully understand. We are listening to the same jibberish while traveling at 500+ knots. By the time you interpret what they are saying you have covered a lot of ground which makes the situation a lot more interesting.:) You turn the volume way up and hope for the best.

The gasket will be a easy job, just spray some crc or wd40 on the nuts n bolts the night before you change it over.

I always see the glass "half full" ( perhaps foolishly )...remember I owned a LJ-78 which requires a "positive attitude.":)
