LJ78 which requires a "positive attitude" and a delusional mind ...

I am starting to think the old adage that "all Canadians are nice" may be a myth.:)

First it was Santa Claus, The Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny and now nice Canadians. Everything I believed in....what a cra*py day.:) I may have to go sit in my "happy place" again.

I would appreciate photos of your rear canopies. I am especially interested on how it attaches to the rear of the bed and the headache
bar. Is anyone running just a canvas or metal top ( without the sides )?
Thanks.......

Surely you fellas from down under where rear canopies are an "art form", can forward a few photos.:D
Thanks......

I was thinking you would like pics of utes with factory tubs and canopies which you will have about 1% chance of finding a Aussie cruiser with that setup.:D
If your after pics of cruiser utes with flat trays and canopies, that should be as easy as finding a picture of a gun or F truck in Texas .

I am embarrassed to admit that I never considered the lack of "factory tubs" when I made the request for photos. I am however still interested in seeing how people secure the canvas or fabric to the metal canopy. While I can't comment on Texas, I am fairly sure that a gun rack is "standard equipment" on any new pickup truck sold in Georgia.:)

What is your purpose of setting up the canopy?

As you know, the HJ75 only has enough interior room for two passengers and a "small verbal message" so adding a rear canopy would allow one to carry extra cargo in a semi- water resistant environment. I am only planning a "roof" made from canvas and not a full-sided cover because I don't want the restricted visibility associated with a full cover.

youu cold go a route like this one:

i made it so you could remove the entire setup with 8 bolts ...
almost done rear drivers.webp
final shot pass rear.webp

Thanks Wayne, Minus the two lower horizontal and the middle vertical supports, that is what I have in mind. I will only have the rear hoop and the headache bar and a canvas top with no sides. I am also considering attaching a sheet of plex-a -glass to the headache bar to prevent water from flowing off of the roof of the cab into the bed. It obviously will not be water proof with open sides but will at least be somewhat water resistant.

Here is a canvas pic for ya mate :)

Not a problem......the 2H will shake loose any rust or spiders.:)

You can put a window in the canvas ,and in fine weather roll the canvas flap up at the back for a clearer view.
A canvas roof on its own wont keep anything dry when you are on the move.
A fully enclosed canopy will make your 75 a much more versatile cruiser

Im thinking about getting my old frame out of mothballs and fitting a solid roof to it,then add some canvas sides.
Ive had 2 canvas canopies and I ripped the rooves to shreds going under dead banksia trees.

Something like this looks great with a factory tub(or tray)

That design is certainly nicer than what I have in mind and if my truck was my daily driver I would seriously consider it. I have had several vintage Land Rovers with full canvas covers and even with "windows" it can be somewhat of a challenge operating a RHD vehicle in a LHD world. Only time will tell if I have made an error in my judgment.:D
