1980 Speedo- ODO cable (1 Viewer)

I have a 1980 FJ40. Original 2F. I have had trouble the odometer for as long as I have had the rig. Speedo is fine, but not the odometer. Several years ago I got a new OEM cable from the dealership, and it has never helped.

Any suggestions what I did wrong on the install ?

the problem is in the speedometer head, not the speedo cable.
most likely needs to be dis assembled and cleaned, old grease gets all gummed up and stiff, clean out and re-lube

@3_puppies is correct. I can help you with this if you don't want to dig into your cluster. I have done probably 100 of these over the years.

I can fix your odometer clean service and test the entire cluster.
