We then joined the Wagon Run led by Andy @Cruiserdrew to drive from Buck Island to the Rubicon Springs.

What Alberto is not saying is that he pitched in and worked like a madman on everyone else's truck. I saw him fix 2 front ends and know he fixed another at the top of Cadillac. He helped spot, helped cook, helped keep Alvaro calm and on track. It was very nice work for a first Rubithon, and much appreciated.

You have to come back next year. And bring Jim C with you.

Very much appreciated, Andy @Cruiserdrew. I hope to bring the BJ40 next year if all the planets align :grinpimp:

After we got back from the Rubicon, I started working a couple of hours every weekend on the BJ40. I replaced front and rear main seals on the 3B, replaced the pilot bearing, installed the flywheel, clutch, and pressure plate on the back of the engine. I have a new oil sump for the engine, but will not install it until the engine is sitting in the engine bay.

JimC @FJ40Jim had pressed a new Genuine throw-out bearing and then finally mated the 3B and H55 together.

The big FedEx box seen in the second photo is a 55 series steering column for the power steering conversion courtesy of @Delancy. Thank you, Chris!

kinda off topic .. you put your TSM t-case disc behind the flange or in front .?

P.S. glad to see Alvaro still around trails ..

Hi David!

JimC mounted the disc behind the flange (between the flange and the Tcase body if you will). That way driveshaft working lengths remain the same. See attached photo for clarification:

I now where to go the next time I need help with one of my Cruisers. :)

Very motivating indeed. I plan on using this as a good reference of what to do...

Little progress to report on the BJ40, considering that the truck is about 2-hours away from my place, time with it has become very limited.

I bought some sweet half-doors for when I feel like running the truck topless. Doors were located in Atlanta.

Shipping was going to be a little pricey, but I learned that Onur @beno was going to be driving through Cincinnati and he offered to help transport the doors for me. Onur is one of my favorite people here on MUD and I want to sincerely say thanks to Onur for this. An underserved dose of Cruiser-Karma for sure. Onur met with @dad4x4 and got the doors in his warehouse.
