All stripped down ready for cleanup and paint. Looked pretty good on the inside. No telltale metal deposits. Prepping the third members to go to the shop and get rebuilt.

Upgraded my stand for the third members. They are such a clumsy part to move around and try to clean/ service.

Starting with the nose down on the third member, I'm able to go around and clear off the gasket material. Flip it over and you can rotate it around and wire wheel the entire surface.. Once cleaned off and prepped , apply paint without getting over spray on the ring gear.

Just got the third members back from the shop so now I have everything ready for the axle assembly. Did a quick trip by Georg at Valley Hybrids and picked up a trail tamer bearing kit, thanks Georg! Hopefully I will have them installed in the next couple weeks.

Starting on the transmission and transfer case today. I'm going to replace the speedometer housing on the transfer case with a upgraded unit from Georg at Valley hybrid. He modifies an existing OEM housing with dual seals to keep the oil where it belongs.... inside the case. Lol.

I should have done that on mine… hopefully no issues. Looking good!

Thanks Tommy. I'm a firm believer in smart upgrades. That one's definitely a no brainer. Georg takes all the guesswork out of it. Just replace your speedometer plastic gear and you're good to go.
