Spent the day with the grandkids and have an event tonight, but once I saw I had a box from SOR sitting at my front door, I just had to put those mirrors on.

And man does that look better. Installation was a breeze, and they work like tiny side mirrors do. Only problem is, I can see me accidentally swiping the pax side mirror off getting into and out of the garage or in the woods. Oh well. Everything has a price.

I've been chasing engine oil leaks recently. Turns out each and every bolt which passes through a gasket has backed off a little, so I've been retorqing them.

Just about had every leak stopped when I foolishly put a wrench on the two 14mm on the base of the timing cover.

Big mistake. I forgot those two were covered in sealant, and tightening them caused a rather energetic leak. After thinking of all the worst case scenarios and loathing the idea of tearing everything down to fix whatever is wrong with the timing cover, I suddenly remembered the thing about the sealant.

I removed both bolts, put new sealant on them and let it sit for 24 hours. Leak gone. For now at least.

Oh, and when I started it up to check for leaks for the last time, the engine developed some serious rod knock. Again, heart in my throat, I did the screwdriver to the ear trick, and all I could hear was the "swish swish" healthy bottom ends usually make.

Scratching my head, I could still hear a definite knock. I looked down on the fender, and saw the 12mm wrench sitting there and had an inspiration. I picked up the wrench and the knock went away.

They do look better, though they don't work as good. But that's something I'm willing to accept.

Oddly enough, the front reflectors appear to be on the wrong sides. I'm not sure, but my sense of aesthetics told me to swap them and I am relieved to have them pointing to the side instead of to half off to the front.

Just stopped in to the local tire and alignment shop to replace the chewed up front tires, and while checking the alignment, the technician found a bad front bearing on the driver's side. Looks like I need to do a birfield job.

Ordered the kit from Kurt, and am waiting for it to arrive in the mail.

The tech did notice that the steering bearing had loosened a little. I'll tighten it up, but will keep an eye on it. I'm wondering if the bad wheel bearing affected that.

Okay, these old type Warn hubs are ticking me off. Once the bolts are removed, it easily comes off 1/2 inch, but no further. All, and I mean all of the instructions and videos I can find cover the newer style locking hubs.

Any clue on how to remove them?

"Something" is holding that hub on. Not really sure what it is.

I swear there was not a parting line where a hub camp would be. Until I resorted to the time honored technique of beating the living crap out of it and the cap popped off.
