BIG DITTO ON THAT!!!!
and i need to clarify my earlier post. "the ideas i get" pertain to my own future projects, or at least pipe dreams. but i can guarantee you that if there's an idea i might have for your rig that's worth contributing, i will certainly do so.
i had a boat load of stereo stuff in "orange". i mounted the amps and crossover behind one of the panels in the rear compartment but had to make a new wooden cover cause the electronics were too thick to tuck in there tightly. the reason why i mounted them there was because i did wheel that LV, even in fairly deep mud. gotta keep that stuff dry. in your case, mounting whatever aux. stereo equipment under the seat would work just fine. i would also not hesitate to run the stereo and speaker wiring under the truck. as long as it's done in yor usual fashion, i see no reason not to do so.
i had a pair of 6x9 speakers mounted in the rear doors but they were too thick and would'nt let the window roll down all the way. i also had a pair of 4" speakers and tweeters in the front doors which cleared just fine. combine all that with a pair of 12s in a pair of boxes in the back and you have yourself a concert hall. large interriors can be good for all kinds of stuff.
another idea i had when building my first LV was to run the hoses for the rear heater under the rig. the stock location for them is so intrusive to a clean interrior.
