When is that "car show" up there??? First weekend in June?

It is looking really nice Matt man....

The car show I would like to bring it to is Saturday, June 10th up here. Actually is a really good turn out, I believe they are anticipating over 150 cars there this year and ususally it is all really nice stuff.

It's in a great area just outside of town at this historical pioneer farm. They've also got the local Scandanavian festival in town that weekend, so it's really busy.........at least for Roseau :D

Steve, might be a great weekend to swing up if your interested and hang out.......even saw Ned Beatty strolling around at the car show last year, if he can show up you should :)

Not much done on the lv this evening. Had to work all day, so by the time I got home, only a couple hours. My new home computer also showed up on Friday, had to spend some time this eveing getting this bad boy up and running.

Had the neighbor come over and give me a hand pushing the lv in the booth. I had to tape off the entire vehicle below the drip edge. I wanted to shoot a couple coats of epoxy primer on seam sealer I applied a coule days ago.

Anyway, got a couple coats of primer on, shot of the beast in the booth this evening. Should be able to start wet sanding tomorrow night.........

Got a good couple + hours on the lv tonight. I had my buddy, "Broncoabandoner" over this evening to give me a hand again ;)

We started on the roof, both took a side and sand it down with 400. Actually went pretty fast. Wiped it down with soap and water after we were done sanding and hosed it off.

We then started on the tailgate and moved into rear quarters up to the rear door jam. All went good, there are a couple scratches that popped up that will need a couple shots of primer. No big deal, going to do that in the morning and keep on wet sanding.

Got a couple days off work, buddy is going to swing over tomorrow and give me hand. I'm hoping we can get the majority of it knocked out and done tomorrow.

Matt.. Is your rig a 65 or a 64? If I recall, its a 64 titled as at 65?

Great progress!

Pretty long day on the lv today. Had my buddy broncoabandoner over again. About a solid 8 hours each, total 16 hrs wet sanding today.

Doesn't look like much, but a few shots of it in the booth and my buddy sanding away ;) It got pretty nice outside today and we had a lot of hosing off to do, so we rolled it outside and did more sanding.

On my own tomorrow, more sanding to do, but I think it's looking pretty decent. The plan is still to have my autobody buddy to come up this weekend and hold my hand while I paint ;p Also to make sure everything is to his satisfaction. If it isn't to his liking, no painting.

I think it's a 65 and I know it's titled as a 65.

Mike might know more about it than me

65 - no fuel door, 40 style cowl vent

looks great....I do blame you though. You motivated me to paint my 40 and I am wondering if it was a good idea at the moment.

This thread has helped me a ton and I have learned a lot. As soon as I got home from the paint store I dented all my paint. I even bent up the hardener, reducer, wax/grease remover cans. Seems odd but if you did it, I had to do the same :D

Matt maybe next time we should make our builds a team effort. I know it will be a little one sided on your side, but I sure could have used your help with the paint and body on mine.
Yours looks awesome, mines a 10 footer.

More wet sanding on the lv today. Had to run into work, so the day got cut short a bit. I didn't take any pics of the lv, since it looks pretty much the same as it did yesterday.

But I will post some pics of some of some other goodies that showed up :D

The first couple pics are of a Toyota tool box, at least that's what I believe it's intended purpose is? Henery C. (Exiled) sent this to me... He emailed me a couple weeks ago and asked if it would be something I would be interested in.......mmmm...ya..of course I'm interested :) He explained his reasons for emailing me and thought that my lv would be the perfect fit for something like this, and he had been waiting for an opportunity to do something with it. He didn't even give me a chance to buy it, he just offered it up as a gift.:)

Henry just pretty much wanted me to restore it and display and use it properly with my lv. As my lv gets closer to completion there will be more pics of me working on this box and more pics of it in the lv :D Thanks again Henry :)

The last pics is the goodies from Semlin (Simon) from the lv found in the woods thread. All parts which will be used!! Just unbelievable to see these parts in person and how nice of condition they are considering what they came off of. I think the seat brackets will clean up great in the blast cabinet. I think the handles an other chrome parts are going to clean up nice with some work with the wire brush and polish. Semlin, the tools should be on the way to you tomorow

It really never cease's to amaze me the generosity of fellow cruiser heads. My wife and I were just talking about this yesterday. She and I are totally amazed on how others are so willing to give there time and materials to help and assist in my project. I don't know how I will ever be able to express my gratitude to those of you that have contributed. I know that I will have to go back and compile a list of those that helped so that in the end I can have a list of credits :D

Regardless.....Thank you all

Are my paint cans all dented up? Did I miss something?? Why would you notice that? :D More importantly why are they all dented up?

Do they all say "TOYOPET" on the rear emblem piece?

As far as I know..yes. Treeroot will know for sure though.

I am working hard towards paint this weekend Shane, I have had no time to do anything else. I'm hoping to get your other part taken care of and send everything to you at once next week. I hope I'm not holding you up??
