Had you rather do Jennifer Anniston, or watch her being done...........

I think a better analogy would be, "watch her being done" or "read about her being done"

Unless of course you want to come up and help, the you could bring the, "do" part back......

;p :D

The first pic has the plastic covering on them to keep nice. The second I peeled it back so you can see the "BlinG"

They pop riveted on from the factory.

Different than I thought? Not good or bad, just different?

Now I want to see a pic of one installed from the factory, yea I know I'm a pain in the ass.

Shane, you might not have a pic of a factory one intalled, but someone else might ;)

Anyone.........Anyone........Bueller............Bueller.................

Thanks, Matt

My wife's '82 FJ40 had those stainless pieces riveted on. I thought they were aftermarket cause none of my earlier 40s had them.

Sad it took the R&D team 20 years to figure that out? They are OEM kinda cool I guess?

cheers Steve

Steve,

Exactly what I was looking for, I'm sure others will be happy to see them also. :)

I think I might have to email Shane tomorrow and get a set of those coming ;) At the very least I want to hold them up on the hood and see how they look and work?

Thanks again, Matt

About another 3 hours on the lv tonight. Got home and blocked out the fenders with 220, then shot a couple coats of epoxy primer over the top, good to go for paint on those now.

That didn't take to long so I figured I better do something else, so I jammed the hood. You can see the white on the bottom, also white on the top. I cleared the bottom and around the edges, but not that stripe down the center or around the spray nozzle holes. Just shot a little base in that crack and other areas for wet sanding, make sure the white gets down in there when I start spraying the exterior.

Still plan on spraying that SEM sauce on the bottom of the fenders tomorrow night, hopefully ;)

On another note......My taillamp buckets were bent up pretty good, I made a request a few weeks ago for some parts from a fellow mud member who offered some possible lv parts, and what do ya know.........Treeroot is the sh-t  I opened the box and almost cried I was so happy :D Perfectly straight lv taillamp buckets!! I owe you big time Mike, next time I'm in Denver I owe you a  or

I took a pic of your artwork on the back, but not sure if you want me to post a pic of that....funny ;)

Thanks again, Matt

You even got tail light gaskets!!!

No problem Matt :) I figured you needed them more than I did. Glad I could help out. I wrote that on the back just in case you didn't see the studs. That wouldn't be good if they got sent off to the zinc plater with those broken studs.

Matt has at least half of the gasket needed. I am still working on the gasket that goes between the assembly and the body.

I had to post a pic of your art work :D

It's the little things in life that make me laugh.........:)

Thanks again

I was at my local ACE hardware today and they had a mess of "O" rings. Could this be used as gasket material for the lense??

did I hear "plating"?:D

Wow, I don't know where to start here but it took me half the day to read every post.
Congrats to your wife for all the hours you've spent in your workshop, and not with her. Your a lucky man!!!;)
I look fwd to seeing the completion of this project.
Fatastic job, I will be following this thread to the end!

Only a couple hours on the lv tonight. Got home and started masking off the edges of the fenders for that SEM sauce.

Mixed up the remaining stuff I had and let'r rip. Got a solid couple coats on. I'm hoping to be spraying color tomorrow, but there was a couple areas of overspray from that SEM sauce. I probably will have to wet sand those areas out tomorrow if it's dry enough and that might put me into Saturday for color.
