You are freekin incredible. I am just in awe. Please do mine when you are done with yours. Sell me your trans tunnel if you don't want to cut it. Please continue to keep us mesmerized.

Thanks Kelly. You are first in line when it's time to sell it. Even if I make a new one I'll need to keep this one for awhile as I might need it for a pattern/template.

Thanks Mark.
This is another reason why I'm considering making a new one. THe new one will be as flat to the floor and the firewall as possible to give the most leg room. Modifying the old one would be easier than making a new one but hey, why do it the easy way.

Well, if you can figure out how to do a clean 'flip' inversion for the driver's side of the hump on a stock unit, you can probably get a little side business going in doing that mod for others. I think pretty much EVERYONE with a 45 p/u could use that mod.;)

I don't think I showed much of this before. Here is the crossmember/support that goes under the Toybox:

Working on the cage. I didn't want to crush the floor where the front hoop plates would mount so I made some spacers.

Toyota put this drain hole in the wrong place so it had to go away.

You can see that one mounting hole would be too closeto the drain hole. Well, too close for me anyway. I may put a drain hole in another location.

Drain hole removed. Holes drilled for mounting plate and front hoop in place.

To fit the rear hoop, the gas filler indent had to go away.

Rear hoop in place. Fitted two top spreaders. There will be four total.
Also fitted rear lower cross bar which will tie in the other 2 floor mount points. This cross bar will also be used for the rear seat mount point.

Great work as usual!

What did the toybox crossmember start out as? looks like maybe some 3/8 channel or tube?

Post up a picture of it mounted up when you get a chance so I can copy it :D

The crossmember was made from 3 pieces of flat bar and two small sections of DOM. The sides are 1/4" and the bottom is either 3/8 or 1/2 I can't really recall. I had the piece lying around so I used it. I bent the bottom piece on a shop press using some dies I made and then cut and fit the sides. I welded it up and then smoothed the outer corners.

I had purchased a HD mount from Marlin Crawler for a Pickup transfercase and I planned to use it. I even made a crossmember for it but then after looking at it and thinking about it it really hung too low for my liking so I made this one incorporating the bottom half of the Marlin mount into my crossmember and eliminating a lot of stackup. If you look back at posts 313 here: https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj45-owners-club/116839-1964-fj45-lb-rb1-project-16.html#post5059859 you will see the HD Marlin Mount and how I started the first crossmember. Notice the lower half of the Marlin mount. With the new crossmember this part is no longer needed. I'll see if I can get a couple pics of it today to show how it goes together but post 317 here: https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj45-owners-club/116839-1964-fj45-lb-rb1-project-16.html#post5059859 shows a picture of the new mount in place in the truck.

Worked on the seat mounts today. Still fitting everything, no welding yet.

Here's a couple pictures of the bars that will support the seats.
