Thanks SO much guys. I know it is disheartening to see it up for sale. I would sure love to take it to cruise moab just to hang out and visit.

Recall I found this FJ45 when looking for a rustic green or nordic blue late model. Maybe things will work out in the end. We'll see I guess.

I am nervous as can be - the economy is a mess and I don't even know if she'll sell. But...I am being "hopeful" and "optimistic".....for the most part, ha ha ha.

Thanks again crew - keep an eye on the auction and spread the word if possible!!

you mind me asking what you used for your tailgate/seal rubbers ( for the vertical bits on either side of the tail gate ) ?

Pablo, Awl_TEQ - your comments are really why I do this. Thanks a ton. The two major reasons I am into crusiers is 1. Friends and 2. Love for the original cruiser. I appreciate the comments.

Destin - on the weatherstripping.....I bought a 7.00 roll of peel and stick weatherstripping from the auto parts store and it has turned out to be worth every penny. It made a pretty good bond (could have been better) but with the tail gate closed 99% of the time, I am not worried too much. Plus, it made a great seal and looks nice too.

Keep in mind they do have the OEM replacement from Toyota.

Damn man cant believe youre selling it. just ran across it on ebay. Noticed you had the warn hubs on it though. I have the original early diamond lever type hubs if your interested.
 
Thanks Girraffe. I had original Huskey's on there (as you can see in the first page of the thread), and I had a set of the lever-type as well.

But...you just can't beat the simplicity and durability of the warn design. plus, they are stubby - and don't stick out. I know they are not original - but in my opinion are the best option to put on there.

Congrats on the auction, hope you got what you wanted out of it. I was watching as it ticked down, watching it jump in the last 15 seconds to meet your reserve was amazing. I guessed your reserve had to be around $20k, glad it jumped over that.

Hope the transaction finishes smoothly, it is a great rig and enjoyed the thread on the process...:beer:

This has to be the neatest picture of all cruisers EVER. To see this photo means the world to me.

I remember wondering why there was a wire up to the A billar (see the spot light in the photo), and I had to weld-fill the screw holes in the bed from those non-oem hooks and the rear view mirrors.

What a wonderful picture!!!!! This just made my day - so happy to see this. As Japanese as these trucks are, looking at that picture can't help but make me feel proud to be an American, and proud to be involved with Land Cruisers. I know I can easily reach 1000 words with this photo.
