What would you pay for this parts rig?
He wants $1,500 but I think it’s too much. I offered $800. I haven’t bought anything in a decade so I don’t know the market anymore.
It has a title but no engine and a Chevy drivetrain. There are no switches and it’s beat up. There isn’t a lot of rust. I just want the bezel and the wiper motors. What would you pay? It’s also a few hrs drive.

It's worth what you are willing to pay. :) In the 90's, it would probably be worth 50-100 bucks. There is not much left on the bone is my excuse. In today's market it would be 1200-1500 to the right person....and maybe not even that. Another way to say it is the seller is not far from the price they will evantually get.

3 of the most coveted items for a FJ40, are the backup light on the 73 40, a stk original Vader light and the stamped "land cruiser " bezel. Don't the bezels usually sell for $800 or more?

yeah those stamped bezels are worth money. I saw a repop one for 300$ even on ebay recently

Looking at the tub wheel wells.. they look to be rounded like earlier fj25 ones. that could be more valuable for the right person.

is the b pillar welded on?? somthing goofy is going on there. Yeah maybe worth more parting out the windsheild, front bib, fenders ect..

That is stock B pillar on the early FJ40 hard top.
I have a couple of them in my RV parking.both a lot more complete. The original stamped bezel most likely the most valuable part. With reproductions not sure it current value. They are a ton of missing parts.

Do you think $1,500 is a fair price?
I have a wrecked Tundra I could use for a conversion. I do really want the bezel and the wiper motors. If you ever want to sell any of those early fj40 a id be interested.

my B pillar on my scissor door hardtop 1964 fj40 is not like that. Must have been a change from 63- 64

Some of my factory-floorboards got swept-up in a shop dustpan. This one's floorboards are functioning as a dustpan. It's a keeper in my book.

Is this truck like the early models where the rear differential is closer to centered on the axle? If not, I might be able to donate some later drivetrain parts and an engine to the effort?

Personally think that is too high priced for what missing.

Didn't notice the wiper motors, those the TNK wiper motors.

Early last year I had had those two corrugated hard tops and early FST tub for sale. Was going to let them go cheap. Had a member who wanted them. Was letting them go cheap because I wanted to add a shed. Ordered the shed and member went MIA. Went to a lot of work to get the area cleaned out and the FST tub on a 61 rolling frame. My motivation to sell them cheap disappeared. Bought the light colour early 40 from a wrecking just for the floor. Was going to use it in an FJ25. But the stamped ribs in the rear floor are a little different and couldn't bring myself to do it. Believe the cruiser was red originally. That red paint not rust where the fuel tank sits.

I’m picking it up next Thursday.
It’s expensive for what is there but I want the bezel. I’m interested in an early fj40 so if you ever want to sell one let me know and I’ll want it. There is also a Chevy trans and transfer case included with the 63 so I’ll be able to sell those locally. Hopefully that will make it a bit cheaper.

The tub’s been cut, those aren’t original wheel wells. FWIW.

Just the Bezel is $800+ to the right person. Took me a long while to find the ones I have. Having the title is a plus.

It’s easily worth the $1,500 in parts. There’s at least 7-9 parts on there that people pay $200 for on the regular not including the bezel.

@Living in the Past
Bezel-$500 to whatever someone is willing to pay. As of this date all of the current stamped bezels reproductions (that I’ve seen) are NOT on par with the OEM. Mainly the stamping is incorrect on the S in Cruiser or the bezel doesn’t cover the gap.

Vader light-$200 to whatever someone is willing to pay.

‘73 reverse light- I don’t know? I don’t have any ‘73 40’s.
