The gas tank tank arrived today.
And the windshield hinges were finished.

The front standing seam definitely cold works better than the rear seam.
I heated the rear after a few whacks at it cold.
Heating made the going easier, but created other issues....my oxygen regulator popped its diaphragm, and the resistance welded seam didn't like the heat all...ended up cracking.
Long story short, it fits but now I need to get it sealed...time to dig out the ERcusi-A filler.

The hood hinges wanted some attention. At some point the oe pin was replaced with this way too small replacement.
A 0.3125" zinc plated pin cut to an appropriate length and some fire rubbed on the end with a liberal application of hammer provided decent results.

I wouldn’t run it. Mount it on your garage wall. Easy to upgrade to the 6 blade Toyota fan (PN 16361-60090) which would provide more cooling and safety.
Cooling isn't my main concern, it's if they are a fan of doom.

IDK man this is one of those opinionated subjects... metal fans in general supposedly like to let a blade loose every third Sunday. Of the literally hundreds that I have inspected, I have found only 1 with a crack. If it's bent or otherwise wobbly, it's toast. If there's a crack forming, it's toast. If you are not worried about cooling and if that fan checks out, I'd run it. I'm going to run my orange one.

That 6 blade would increase cooling for sure though and is arguable safer but if you just inspect yours every now and then, you are good. But I'm just one person on the internet. Lets see if anyone has any carnage pics haha. If you were asking about using that on a race motor - duh! No. But this ia a tractor motor.

I’m running my orange metal one. I’ll post pics when any carnage occurs.

I'm running 4 of the steel ones too on J4's and also on my GPW, MB, 2A, Power Wagon and Tri-Fives, have yet to have one let go. Our old Ferguson and Fiat tractors on the farms still run their OE metal fans and have done so for at least 15,000 hours. Don't know what the hype is about.

i'm running metal on annie. i did deviate from oe and paint it orange (they were black back then) so any cracks would stand out better.

awesome im going to send it.
i have a few asme inspections up coming....might take it in to the shop and let then mt it.
im not sure if the truck has 37k miles or 137k....but im leaning towards 37k.

There is a 25 bottom seat frame for sale, maybe in the 25 for sale section. Kind of pricey though. But if you really want original. I did the same thing you're doing for my early '63 45 seat which should be a 25 seat essentially. I couldn't find any 25 seats at the time, but I'm also kind of cheap so I wouldn't pay what's being asked nowadays. Looks like you still have the tool box locking strap, I haven't done anything about that yet for mine.

I have most of the bottom frames.
I was going to try and cobble something together, but ultimately decided that there wasn't enough of a difference to get the juice from that squeeze.
I'm not cheap, but i can spell frugal in six languages.

On the metal fan subject, I had one let go on my FJ55. Didn’t get the hood, but destroyed the radiator, shroud, water pump, hoses and the crank pulley.

And left me stranded 1.5 hours from home.

loaded the chassis up for sand blasting and painting this morning....super excited to get that back and the body back on it.
