You could use it like the 1HZ that uses the same part for the vacuum hose to cross from one side of the engine to the other. But its kind of pointless if you have a LHD

So I think the tube you guys are talking about runs coolant to the turbo. But I wouldn't be at all surprised if I'm wrong. Will be relying on @doughboy and his cruiser to make sure everything is hooked up correctly a-la Toyota factory spec. Did a quick walk-around vid for anyone interested. I'm pretty happy about how shiny it is. Now if only I could get the utah sand pit out of my engine bay.

The wait for parts continues, but I did get stuff back from the powdercoater with fresh ceakote, so pics!

WOW! That is totally amazing! Great work!

Holy cow. Engine porn right there!

Hit a major snag. Sheared a flywheel bolt off when using it to try to remove the pulley bolt from the crank. Ordered new ones but they're too short and my guess is they are for a manual transmission.

I can find the right ones (I think) on amayama but shipping from Japan is up to 3 months at this point.

I have a few options:
1. Order and wait 3 months
2. Find a kind soul here with a spare
3. 'Field repair' it, cut down an old main bearing cap bolt and let 'er rip.

Here's the waned ad for said bolt: Wanted - Parts help! Looking for a 1HDT Flywheel/Drive Plate Bolt

Here's option 3 to send your OCD through the roof.

Check ARP for a similar bolt. Give them a call with the specs they might be able to help you out.

I don't think there is anything special about them, find the correct high grade bolt on mcmaster or similar and run it, it will look different then the rest but who cares. The size/pitch isn't anything special, either M10 or M12, by whatever length.

That engine looks great!

First, huge thanks to Jackson from Slee for connecting me with the most likely people to have one of these bolts.

It sounds like those bolts are very hard to come by in North America. Kurt (@cruiseroutfit /Cruiser Outfitters) went and did some cross-referencing on other flywheel bolts but none he has on hand are long enough. It sounds like he's going to order them, so if anyone is looking in the future for 90105-12198 / 9010512198, I'd give him a call. Sounds like they're building out quite the HDJ inventory in general.

Shortened the main bearing cap bolt (yellow). Feels a bit heavier than the flywheel bolt. Scale is coming from Amazon tomorrow, so hopefully I can do some strategic weight reduction to get it balanced. Threaded area is shorter, so I used the paint to make sure I had some wiggle room. 2 threads left!

Valve body is also coming tomorrow, so this whole bolt delay probably saved me from installing that under the vehicle. There's a bright side to everything. Still hoping to get the right part, but I'll probably button it up this weekend if I don't get traction.
