Hi All,

On the way back to the east coast from Colorado I had a transmission failure in my hdj81. Unfortunately it had a brand new billet converter and valve body installed a few weeks prior.

From my understanding the valve body can be cleaned. Is the TC salvageable at all? Is it even worth the cost to rebuild it?

converter shop should be able to cut it open, clean and inspect it usually cost is about $200 or less i would think that it would be worth it. shouldn't need rebuilt unless the clutches are damaged. do you have a clear diagnosis as to what failed in the transmission?

It doesn’t look like anything catastrophic. It looks like the plates and disc gave out. There were no solids in the fluid, just a nice metallic hue
