I wasn't sure. The Land Cruiser had an immobilizer in '98.

The immobilizer will allow the fuel pump to run, there will be spark, but the injectors won't fire.
Ya, that was the direction we were thinking. Something was shutting down the system. I will look into it.

It's alive. Video at 5:00. :)

Issue was FPR.

Steering pump is noisy, though I'm hoping it improves as air gets pushed through.

Congratulations!

Any theories on why all three FRP where bad? Perhaps they gum up after sitting?

What ho?! A ghost! We haven't heard from you in awhile Paul. Good to see you are still lurking.

Gumming is a good guess. They were boneyard harvests, and have been sitting for several years.

YEAH! I knew you would figure it out. So, Lockhart Basin is back on for you?!?

I just want to see a freaking burnout y'all 😜

That is my goal. I'm going to bust a gut in the next few days to deal with a punch list. Some items are quick, one will require a shop, others will take awhile. Some of the things can wait (AC lines/hoses), but others can't. This rats nest is an example.

If I wasn't working this week I would totally come over and get in the way, I mean I would come over and help. See you on Thursday morning at Home Depot!

Still lurking, might even time it right one of these days to make it back down to NM to one of those fancy breakfasts gatherings that got started up, so I can see this swap in person.

A new band for Pappy to rock out to on the highway!

Well, the drive back was, um, fun. On one of the hills coming up from to Rio Bravo from the river I started up at 75, and finished the climb at 71 ... IN 5TH GEAR! Normally it would have been a 3rd gear climb.

Now that I've jumped down the OBDII rabbit hole, any suggestions on a reasonable code reader? Either stand alone, or phone app.

I use a VeePeak bluetooth reader (like $20 on amazon) and OBDFusion. That app gives you access to all sensor data the ECU sees and you can customize a GUI exactly how you want. The caveat is that it takes a lot of work to customize a GUI with all the scaling needed to get the gauges how you want. The default dashboards suck IMO and need to be modified.

The Torque app seems to be a popular one for a bluetooth scanner. Any generic ELM (or something like that) will do as the hardware plug/dongle thing. The "pro" version of the Torque app gives you mode data in case the free version isn't enough.

I also use the Torque app. I recommend getting Techstream.

Porn. Still a few things to take care of, but it's driveable.
