Ya, I have the paper EWD for both 1998 and 1986. Plus the digital for 1998.

Cool, let me know when you're done with them for isabelle's '97 . I did print out both the FSM & EWD but nothing beats the rear books.

Well, as usual, I had to put up with the usual abuse, er, encouragement, on the new engine. One question asked was if I was going to run a header. The answer was sort of yes. Early 3RZ engines had a cast manifold which were prone to cracking. Mine was cracked. Around 2000 Toyota went with a factory mini-header on the 3RZ. It looks a whole lot like the Doug Thorley, which appears to have been disco'd.

I bought it, then sent both the header and the heat shield off to get ceramic coated to try and keep under hood temperatures down.

Looks great, Pappy! What’s left before it gets stuffed under the hood?

Selling the FJ40 so I can pull it into the garage. Though, I might have a plan B there.

OK, I might have a plan. Grant knows somebody. That somebody has done 3.0 -> 3.4 transplants. Grant has confidence this fella can do my 2.7 engine. He is coming by Monday to chat and look at the project.

Ok but don’t blame me if he messes it all up 😬😬😬😬

SO is the 40 sold or is plan B not to sell?
Also you're going to need to replace those belts since its been sitting for a few years...

Smart a$$. The FJ40 is still in the garage. The plan is still to sell her. Grant helped me wake up to a Plan B option. I'm actually a bit giddy about the idea.

I think you should keep it but I have a hard time getting rid of 2x4 scraps, so yeah I might not be the guy to get advice from when it comes making room in the garage.

Dennis has joined an official 12 step program for Landcruisers.

Thinking I might need to do the same.....

ohhhh....you guys are on the accelerated program:oops:

I heard from Mike today. I have his cost. There were some things I needed to take care of at my end.

- Battery tray. Everything is reversed on this engine. Fuel, intake, battery, exhaust. I bought a conversion battery tray from TOS. I just need to spray it with paint.

- Finalize the fuel line solution. Like I said, everything is reversed and I need to relocate the fuel supply, return, and evap lines. I have a solution engineered, I just need to fabricate the lines for real.
