Cool thing but seems like it takes up an unnecessary amount of space in the back. I’m constantly hauling stuff and those would get in the way.

Probably why the bars didn't make it past the first year or two of the FJ60s.

To be honest, this thread is more porn than the porn thread. This is like deep hardcore stuff that you start to get into once the initial warm fuzzies for the land cruiser’s body shape start wear off…. You start to get into fresh yellow cad zinc and OEM molded heater hoses, and then you’re into Toyota parts boxes and bags, and eventually you’re going crazy for a freakin’ green Toshiba dash bulb condom!

SSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, don't say yellow zinc or you'll summon Crazy Aunt @ToyotaMatt :lol:

Oooohhhhh, I just did it didn't I?
I am one yellow zinc crazy also. Every nut, bolt and bracket is yellow zinced on my nut & bolt restoration if they were that from the factory.
Even the hidden ones like on this air duct for air cleaner inside front fender.

Not gonna lie I definitely dig it on parts that originally came that way.

I did a little research a while back on cleaning and re-plating parts that are NLA and came plated, but the process and chemicals needed (mainly toxicity levels) led me to decide against putting together a setup in my shop. I'll leave it to the pros if I HAVE to have something plated and can't get it new.

Just wait till you hear that the mil spec stuff is still cadmium plated :rofl:

Ooooooohhhhhh yeah, dealt with plenty of that in my flightline days in the Air Force. Getting out ten years ago was the best decision I ever made.

Aunt @ToyotaMatt turned me onto fresh zinc plating…. It’s been an issue ever since. I’ve seriously thought about making my own plating set up because of it.

@Samppahj
I believe you restored one of these. If it’s in your thread I’ll go back and check it out. If not, any insight on this is appreciated. We can take it offline from this thread. Thank you. Jimmy

We need to reproduce these
I’ve thought about remaking the canvas - I already make a few canvas items. I’ll volunteer for the team.

What the heck is it? It looks like a grocery cover for the cargo area, no?

It goes on the grille of diesel trucks and rolls down to cover the radiator when you’re running cool.

HAHAHA. I can be really unobservant at times... Now I recall reading that and seeing the pics. Thanks

I saw this book in pictures of a 1988 BJ75 on a Finnish auction site. Had to get one myself. A nice addition to the cars red folder for instruction manual and service book. Every dealer has this red folder with own ad print. Mine was sold by Hemmingin autoliike. I also meade a replica of their window sticker. I drew it myself and it was made by the same guy/company that made the original ones in he 80's and who also made the oem look decals on the side of my car when it was new.
