Cool thing but seems like it takes up an unnecessary amount of space in the back. I’m constantly hauling stuff and those would get in the way.
Probably why the bars didn't make it past the first year or two of the FJ60s.

I am one yellow zinc crazy also. Every nut, bolt and bracket is yellow zinced on my nut & bolt restoration if they were that from the factory.SSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, don't say yellow zinc or you'll summon Crazy Aunt @ToyotaMatt
Oooohhhhh, I just did it didn't I?
Not gonna lie I definitely dig it on parts that originally came that way.I am one yellow zinc crazy also. Every nut, bolt and bracket is yellow zinced on my nut & bolt restoration if they were that from the factory.
Even the hidden ones like on this air duct for air cleaner inside front fender.
Just wait till you hear that the mil spec stuff is still cadmium platedNot gonna lie I definitely dig it on parts that originally came that way.
I did a little research a while back on cleaning and re-plating parts that are NLA and came plated, but the process and chemicals needed (mainly toxicity levels) led me to decide against putting together a setup in my shop. I'll leave it to the pros if I HAVE to have something plated and can't get it new.
Ooooooohhhhhh yeah, dealt with plenty of that in my flightline days in the Air Force. Getting out ten years ago was the best decision I ever made.Just wait till you hear that the mil spec stuff is still cadmium plated
Aunt @ToyotaMatt turned me onto fresh zinc plating…. It’s been an issue ever since. I’ve seriously thought about making my own plating set up because of it.SSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, don't say yellow zinc or you'll summon Crazy Aunt @ToyotaMatt

I believe you restored one of these. If it’s in your thread I’ll go back and check it out. If not, any insight on this is appreciated. We can take it offline from this thread. Thank you. Jimmy
