Hello all, Long time lurker looking to finally make my jump into a 100 series. I’m looking for an 05-07 Lx preferably around the 150k mark or less, but I don’t mind if it’s slightly more if it has been taken care of. I’d prefer to stay around the 18k price range but willing to pay more for the right vehicle. I’m a wa resident but will travel anywhere if necessary. I’m currently on a deployment so looking to buy around the end of the month/early July. I just figured I’d throw my hat in the ring a little early, in case anyone is looking to sell in the next couple of months. Mostly looking for a (realisticly) rust free vehicle that has been taken care of that I can build and hold onto.

Looking for an LX 470 outside the salt belt. Love the Slee inspection list.
What’s the best advice about hiring someone to inspect a prospect vehicle? Years ago, I bought a VW Syncro camper from across the country. Those were quirky enough that a list of “approved mechanics” was available, and I was able to hire one of them to inspect.
Is there similar guidance for these vehicles?
Alliance Inspection told me they only inspect for cosmetic stuff (no mechanicals). SGS is the only other national firm I’ve heard of.
Ideally, I’d like to provide the Slee list to someone and get a report.

Well maintained 2002 Toyota Land cruiser currently at 164,000 miles. I've used it as a daily driver for the past year and a half and have had no issues mechanically with the vehicle. I did have the valve cover gaskets and spark plug tube seals replaced in January of this year, as the shop noticed them starting to leak when I had it serviced. Timing belt, water pump, and serpentine belt all replaced at 120k miles. Interior is in great shape, only one minor tear in the drivers seat. Antennta is broken, but the motor still works, it just hasn't been enough of an issue for me to replace it. Asking $11,990 OBO.

After much back and forth, I’ve decided to sell our 2001 LC. I thought we would have kept this car forever, but just had a baby and I work at a VW dealership that just had a too good to pass on employee lease for a new Atlas. I bought it from the second owner in April of 2017 with 182k miles on it. He bought it with 29k miles on it when it was 3 years old from Toyota as a Certified Preowned. I have a large folder of the prior owners service records as well as a listing of what I have done since owning.
