South CA: 1975 FJ40 SMOG EXEMPT
Price: $14,500 OBO Re-posting up my 1975 FJ40. I had originally posted this around a year ago after moving out of state, but my buddy that was taking care of it for me in California decided that he wanted to buy it off of me and so I stopped trying to sell it. Fast forward a year, and he is in a bit of a rough patch financially and won't be following through with the purchase anymore. So back up for sale it goes. I will be out in Los Angeles February 8-11 for a work trip and intend to do some extensive wiring work on the truck. I will have the title with me on the trip and am very motivated to get this thing sold while I am out there. Currently there is an intermittent short in the wiring behind the dash that will sometimes kill the...

TRADE 40 Series or 70 Series Roller for my '73 Porsche 914 EV Conversion
Hi - Testing the waters on the idea of trading my nice Porsche 914 EV conversion project for a 40 series or 70 series roller. The Porsche is in good mechanical shape and decent cosmetic shape. It is, however, definitely still a project and should go to someone who can turn a wrench and is familiar with high voltage (~130VDC max). I pulled the anemic two liter last winter and swapped in a series wound DC motor with a high performance Zilla controller. The combination generates something like 150hp. I spent a lot of time and money on the build and used high end parts throughout. It has 16kWh of storage which means about 40 - 50 miles of range, dependent upon how you drive it (it will spin the tires in second gear, if you ask it to)...
1974 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser - Rustic Green
Price $35,000 Location: Boise, Idaho Mileage: Unknown (Odometer was not working when originally purchased) This is your chance to own a piece of history, and a labor of love. This was my daily driver for several years after completing the build. I mostly rebuilt this truck over the course of 3 years down to the frame rebuilding and replacing a ton of parts keeping original parts a priority, but adding some minor luxuries. I really hate to sell it and I'm not in huge rush, but sometimes life calls for sacrifice and my wife and I are selling to fund a surrogacy to expand our family. I know I'll regret letting it go :( I have several extra parts from the original build to go with this. The rig is not perfect and still needs a few...
Las Cruces, NM, 1977 FJ40 for Sale
I don't really want to but looks like I need to sell this old girl. She's been good to me, and I've had no problems. It has a 350 and the front end is stable. She'll do 80 on the highway and you won't realize it. MRAP seats in the back are cool. I get lots of thumbs up. She really is a beast, on and off road. I'm located in the Hatch/Las Cruces, NM area. Panels are solid. (I also have the parts for power steering, I just haven't had time to get it done). Asking $12,900.00 or best reasonable offer

Midland, Tx: 1976 fj40 us spec
Putting my fj40 for sale. I’ve had it since 2018 mostly just stayed in garage, drive around neighborhood every once in a while. Will post more pictures tomorrow. Has rust in rear quarters an rear sill, floors are solid. One rear door is dented pretty bad but have an extra. Has dents scratches not a restored vehicle. Has 2f not sure if matching. I put a Fuji carb from city racer on it and an original style air cleaner. Could be restored. Bought from guy who said he got it from Dan Fogelbergs estate in Colorado, comes with some title paperwork with his wife’s name, if that interests you. Runs fine springs are lift springs and pretty stiff. It’s a 1976 but someone before me put 74 and tx wouldn’t change it and I never had...

Western NY, 1980 FJ40
Looking to trade for a later model LS460 or 500 AWD. (I know. Its worth a shot.) The right car can be negotiated. I have too many TLC's and the herd needs thinning. This was recently built by BTB/Man-A-Fre in NV. It was a custom job for me personally with a new Mosley HO 2F, header, Holley FI, 5 speed H55, 4.11 with ARB lockers, pwr steer, radio, trac bar, rebuilt axles, new suspension, wheels and a bunch of other goodies including a powder coated frame. All new bed liner paint inside, outside and underneath. A sharp eye will note that the tub is not a 1980. It was replaced with an older tub as the original had been over modified. I have hundreds of images from before during and after. This is just a taste...

Very rare and very clean! No rust! Three speed manual transmission, rebuilt engine all original! Shifts smooth and 4x4 works great. Acquired it from the second owner in Seattle about a year ago. He had it in Phoenix were he bought it from the original owner in the 1990s. Put it on EBay this summer and it hit $32800, but buyer drug the deal out for over a month and was unable to finalize the deal. So here we go again! Asking $26,900 obo……please let...
1973 FJ40/Arizona
Recently picked this up and toying with the idea of trading for a 60/62. I’m located in Scottsdale, Arizona. Some details: Rust free, minus some minor surface rust where paint has peeled or chipped off. Original drum brakes, original steering, original dash and knobs, minus the choke knob and cable which is in the glove compartment. Body is in good condition. There’s some minor dents, but overall nice condition. Paint isn’t that great. There’s some decent areas and also areas where it’s faded, peeling. There’s some overspray in a few areas. All gauges work in the stock cluster, minus the temp gauge. All lights and other electric is good. I just picked up a set of City Racer LED headlights that I still need to install. At some...
Seems worth putting it out there. Casually searching for a solid, honest and mostly original FJ40 not too far from Grand Junction, CO. Target budget is $15-$16K-ish, which I know is not going to buy a cream puff, but.....not looking for a cream puff. Hoping to find a solid and pretty original driver to have fun with here locally. Needs a bit of TLC is fine too. I prefer '75 or newer for the 2F, but open to an older 40. A few have recently sold in the $18K range that I'd be thrilled to own so I know I am close (blue '78 in Sacramento that sold last month was a dream!). Desert Southwest patina a plus! Some minor rust OK. Thanks for any info, advice or leads.
SC: 1962 FJ40 FST
Hey Everybody I've got a 1962 FJ40 FST that I purchased from California a few years back it is a completely rot free body, though it is has plenty character and surface rust from being outside. When it came to me it was a bit of a 25/40 mutt. The hood, fenders, front bib at some point had been replaced with 25 body parts. I had planned on restoring this FST as it is a rare bird to begin with and very hard to find one that still has the original doors and bows which are unique to the '61-62 FJ40. To that point over the last fewer years I have slowly been collecting items to help bring it back to stock , 40 bib and bezel, correct front and rear seats, 40 rims and hubcaps, etc. The 40 is currently a roller as the original trans and...

Atlanta, GA | 1968 FJ40
History: I bought it about 18 months ago from Chris Wade. When he bought it, he wasn't sure what he was going to do with it. Maybe use it as a parts car. Once he started cleaning it up, he realized how original it was and that it didn't seem right to pull it apart or restore it because it was so special. This is my second 40. I had a 1978 about ten years ago, and after dumping money into it, I sold it. I always regretted selling, so I started looking for another one. This one seemed perfect as its original, has a lot of character, and didn't need a lot of work. It's been a lot of fun, but I'm not driving it enough and figured it was time to let it go. I'm sure I'll regret selling this one too. It has around 13,000 miles on the...
Still looking for the right 40 on what’s now been over a year long search. I’ve passed on a handful of 40s. Looking for something semi local. I’m looking for a solid running, original or restored, driver quality 40. Prefer a 75-78, but any year is ok, provided it’s a floor shift transmission. If you have one let me know. I also have a restored CJ8 that I’d be willing to trade. My budget is flexible. No SA or AUS trucks. Thanks!
