It has some rust in the usual places. Needs brakes and a new windshield.
Cruiser is located in McCall Idaho.

*** SOLD SOLD SOLD **** 1974 fj40 i got off cragslist about 4 or 5 moths ago. it had ben sitting in a barn for 8yrs and i was excited to see if this old girl still had life in her. trailered it home and went to work replacing all the usual stuff. New fuel tank, breaks, clutch master and slave, rubber brake lines, swapped in a front disc axel, fresh oils, some all terrain tires/ wheels, bolted on a healthy Oem carb i picked up from lambcrusher. added some fresh fuel and it fired right up!! runs like a champ. runs great and starts easily once its warmed up (choke cable not attached to carb yet). exhaust is very clean. drives great.. stops great..this all happened about 3mo ago and its ben siting ever since.. i have 2 fj40s...

It has been a long time since I have been on the forum due to some changes in job duties, family, and other obligations. Hence, I need to get rid of my FJ40 project. This 1974-ish project started as a father-son project, but since he found a wife and had a couple of kids, this has been occupying a large portion of my garage for 4-years without being touched. A few years ago I bought an FJ60 to go with our 77 FJ40. We ended up selling the 40 so my wife could get a "new" used van for the addition of a new child. My oldest daughter, whom the 40 was going to, still wants a 40 for her transportation. I bought the latest FJ60 for that reason, but the 40 is still pulling at her. I would be willing to trade my FJ60 for a comparable FJ40, would love for it to be sprung over, but not required. Hard top is a must as well as doors that work and a rig that doesn't leak. Would prefer the original carb and engine as well as ambulance doors over the earlier hatchback/tailgate.

I purchased the FJ40 from a gentleman up in Denver, he did the V8/brakes/lift/front seats/roll cage/winch, not sure where, all other mods/work was done by Red Line Land Cruisers last year. Has been stored in a garage the entire time, located in Colorado Springs (a few miles away from Red Line). 128k miles on the body, engine conversion was done about 90k.
The guy I bought it from was born in South Africa, moved to Los Angeles later in life, grew up with FJ’s and decided had to have one like the one he grew up with. Purchased the FJ40, made it exactly how he wanted it, for cruising. Never took it off road, liked to drop his kids at school and cruise the strip in this beauty. I purchased it and wanted to make it a little more functional...
I have never talked to the guy. But it looks nice from the street.

Gentlemen!
I am chasing this firewall grommet for late model FJ40 suit all late model 4X. It is part of the main wiring loom both sides to the engine bay. I have bought a replacement from toyo4wd in AUS but wasn't good and after removing both sides I left with nothing but hot air from engine :))
The broken grommet is on the pic.

I have here a 1978 fj40 with 50000 original miles. It was babied all its life and rins like a charm. It has vintage air air condtioning and a am fm xm radio. It has original bucket seats and a full roll cage with four point simpson restraints. 20000 or best offer.
