I've got an old project that I'd like to offer up for sale before winter
I've got 2 FJ worth of parts, both were disassembled, frames sand blasted and repainted, one frame is setup for v8, and other has shackle revers kit and side bars welded in.
I have 2 bodies, one fiberglass and one stock metal in ok shape.
Some newer parts around too, have to come check it out.
These 2 Project FJs have been sitting a while.

I'm going to be in the States next week and want to move this nut and bolt body off frame restored 1977 BJ40, remarkably clean 2 owner truck that was and is rust free. Have pics of resto process with body, tub, doors etc stripped to bare shiny metal, dry as a bone solid survivor in 031 white. B series diesel is strong, pump fresh too, 4 speed, fresh clutch, drive anywhere now. Rolling on brand new BFG KM2 mud terrains. Truck is titled in Florida, can be seen in West Palm Beach area.

I have recently been looking for a middle of the road, non-restored, original driver FJ40. I have always been a Land Rover Series / Defender guy but am looking to branch out. My brother in law just picked this up at an auto auction and I was looking if anyone has seen the rig in the past or has any information on it based off the pics. This 79 fj has been sitting in a barn for over 15 years. No motor/trans or interior, but the body, top, doors, etc are rust free in good shape. I have the couple pieces of glass that are missing in the top, as well as the 4th missing wheel (tire was shot). Motor was pulled for a rebuild by a shop that went under and p.o. was unable to get the parts back. I'm selling my 1977 BJ40 (3B) from Costa Rica. It's been my daily driver for 5 years.
The truck is in the middle of a thorough restoration. Not a frame off but significant none the less.

A chamber in the head cylinder blew out and damaged 1 piston and the rest of the cylinder. I've sourced all the parts from within the US and its going to be around $1700 (parts only). I can provide the suppliers and invoices if someone wants to pick up where I am leaving off.

Hey! I'm in naples area, have a 95 4runner clean title, with a 93 donor, the 95 have a 5 inch lift, the donor have good engine great interior a lot of spare parts.
$29,000 asking price. Restoration completed year ago, all original 1F motor and 3 speed. Bumpers (front and rear) are custom made with winch and jerry can holders. Over $30,000 spent on new parts. Everything but the seats, brush guard(with winch), and bumpers(with jerry cans) are original(still have original bench seats but they need some serious work). repaired all the body work and welding replacing the entire rear quarter panel due to rust. She has an original straight 6 motor with manual 3-speed transmission. Rebuilt motor. It does have the upgraded front axle with disc brakes. Also included a sound system with two sound bars attached to the roll bar. Of course it is 4X4 with locking front hubs. I will list off more specifics...

Project stalled after getting drivetrain complete and about half of body work done. My plan was to build up a mechanically sound FJ40 Land Cruiser and upgrade it using OEM Toyota components, if not Fj40, then Fj60. Not trusting my skill as a mechanic, I utilized professionals, (Land Crusier specialists) to overhaul the 2f engine, 4speed transmission and transfer case, front and rear axels (.456 gears, new locking hubs, rear air locker). The Ignition, carburetor (found a new old stock), was upgraded with FJ60 parts. New alternator, water pump, oil pump, clutch, oil pan, tie rods, belts hoses, starter, nuts and bolts, all new OEM. Looking for an Fj40 to live out its days in Hawaii. Don't really want to exceed a budget of 8k for this project. Would love something clean and relatively rust free, but I am realistic about my budget. Not too particular about the year. Would prefer one mechanically sound over cosmetically pretty, actually looking forward to making it beautiful again. Do not want any engine conversions or heavily modified, so the more original the better. Geographically, something on the west coast would be easiest for me to ship to Oahu. 1977 fj40 with lots of work done! The front axle, motor, Trans and transfer case all from a 50k truck. I have that truck in my possession as well and have the 50k cluster to prove mileage. Axle completely rebuilt. New calipers, pads, knuckle kit, braded hoses, tie rod ends. New hfs lift that still has the stickers on it! Motor was resealed and gasketed. New clutch and hydraulics. Runs and drives very well! Winch has been rebuilt with new control box. Needs cable. Tires have 60 to 75% left. Body is solid and has been painted tan over the original blue. Soft top is new I'm not selling the hard top. I have a new set of soft doors with the top. I'm located in northern ky. Close to the airport and Cincinnati! Asking $8750. Thanks
I have a 72 fj40 for sale. Has all running gear except a motor, disc front axle, stock rear, TH350 with an adapter to the toy tcase, drivelines etc are there. Tub was soda blasted awhile back and is in good condition, tho it now has some light surface rust from moisture getting to it in the garage. Has the hard top (glass is out but there). Depending on what someone wants I also have fenders, bib, a split hood minus the chrome piece, and other parts. No doors on this rig. CLEAN TITLE! Looking to get 2500 for the tub/chassis, top, title, etc as it sits. Clean start to a good project.
Time and finances aren't there. Started the build and am in the process of deconstruction. Tub, cowell, motor, tranny, drivetrain and axles / suspension are still intact. Motor is newer 2F, lift is ProComp 2 1/2". Axle has been swapped to a 76 with disc brakes. Interior was shot so no front or rear seats but I still have the front seat mounts Spent her entire life in Colorado and New Mexico so very little rust, new rear sill and some minor cancer cut out on the rear quarters and tub.
