Just tossing this out but I shipped a 2F engine and shipped a transmission/transfer case from NJ to Georgia and Florida using FASTENAL Blue Line Freight. A simple drop off for me in my pickup around $200 each. They did the rest and each was received within 3 days…Something to keep in mind, in case
Wow! That’s a fraction of the quotes I’ve been seeing. TYVM! Not sitting on another by chance?

I just ordered the ODYSSEY Extreme BatteryODS-AUX14 to power the APEX winch mounted on the car trailer and a battery box to store it in from Amazon. I can power the winch and take it to my diesel tank with the 12V pump that I use to take to town to fill and then transfer to the rolling tank with the hand crank that the Wife uses if she has to fill the tractor.

SUNAPEX Smart Battery Box 12V/24V Power Center - Multi Ports & Circuit Breaker for Trolling Motor, Marine,RV & Solar Panel (No Battery)
$66.49
Yesterday I picked up the battery from NAPA and the box was delivered today. Got the box unboxed today and took out to the barn to install the battery.

The battery is small and light and reused the foam packing to take up some of the space inside the box before connecting the leads. There is enough room for at least 3 of these little 12 V batteries. I could set up 2 in series for more storage and a 3rd for a spare. Well see how it goes first.

Here is the performance of the battery. I am a mechanical person not electrical but I think this will work fine.

Wont work because I need 650 CCA for a 12K winch.

@Gretchet I've thought about doing the sound deadening. I only have a soft top (saving up for a hard top) but do you think it will make much of a difference with either no top or just a soft top?
Probably not too much of a difference as far as sound if you're running topless, but the heat resistance factor has definitely helped.

I am about to get yelled at because I just ordered a 800 CCA Optima marine battery and battery box that is a step up from this one.

Length is an easy fit. The feet on the long sides are exactly the same width as the raised edges of the tray. I’ll probably throw some wood under it to keep it steady.
When I bought mine it came with a rectangular plastic piece that I think is meant to be a spacer to make it full height. I didn't need it on my FJ40 install. They are great full lead batteries. The cheaper one everyone buys are recycled lead and don't last as long.

I takes time but rust removal and paint is really rewarding once you get a certain section done.
Don’t I know it…1/3 my life at work…although I’m not going with steel wool and bondo on our cruiser. At least I don’t think we are. We’re kinda bouncing between two extremes: restoration or bondo baby (slapdash quick and enjoy).

Toyota parts deal is showing it’s discontinued.Where did you find it. My last one was an international truck windshield cut down.
Dealership. I’ve heard it’s been discontinued since something like 2012 or older. How the guy I order parts from tracked this down is totally a mystery. He said it was discontinued but he was able to track one down for me. I asked if there are any more and he said it’s the last one he could find. Box was unopened when I showed up and the packing looks new so it’s not like it’s been on the shelf for decades; I made them unbox it so I could verify it wasn’t broken. Will unwrap and install this weekend to see if it really fits. Crazy find

Edit, got it home and in the gasket
