I have no desire to own a new vehicle. Stumbled across FJs and have become consumed. While mechanically inclined I have very little experience working on cars. Looking for a daily driver to and from work which is only 8 miles. Live in Houston so A/C is a must. Wanting something that is reliable. What do you think something like this would be worth. Available for purchase is a 1977 FJ40 with 57K on the ticker. I have done my best to preserve this FJ40.
What can I say? Everything works! I have spent a lot of time working to preserve an original FJ. I have taken extensive pictures to document the preservation process. This vehicle was towed by the previous owner and the jumper for the lights is included, I have removed the rear tow lights that were added as they just weren't becoming a survivor FJ.
The body was removed from the chassis and the engine, transmission and transfer case were removed from the chassis. The bare chassis was stripped and coated in Imron. The tie-rod ends were all replaced. While the chassis was being stripped The underside of the tub and fenders were...

This is a 1992 Long chassis troop carrier commonly referred to as a Troopy. It is the truck of choice on Safari in Africa and the outback of Australia if you watch any TV at all. This particular truck comes equipped with the inline 6 (3F) 4.2L, gas engine and 5 speed transmission. Has fairly new (90%) tires and alum wheels. Interior is in very good condition as is the engine. I drove it four hours from Miami with no issues. There is no visible rust on the chassis or body, Has new shock absorbers all around, new master cylinder, new brakes.
The roof tent is included in the sale.
Here are the flaws/Issues: Body work/paint is poor at best (it is horrible!) some gauges not working, No Air now but originally equipped with AC.

I have a 1989 gray FJ62. It is really stock. It is in Central Oregon with almost no rust for a cruiser, just a couple spots. the clear coat is going on the hood and top. It runs great.
I am looking for a stockish running and driving FJ40 or BJ40. No SBC, big lifts, rust buckets, basket cases... Must have hardtop. Low to no rust. I would prefer 1975+ and if it had power steering that would be great.
I am in Central Oregon but could drive to wherever in the lower 48 to make the trade.

By no means is this in perfect condition or fully restored but is very clean in all the spots that it should be and has been very well taken care of. From my research which I've done a lot of anytime fully restored or restoration comes in the play with these vehicles it's going to be hard to find anything less than $30,000 and have the original motor.
