Aight. His slow ass got it. The rear is hitting the exhaust so we are going to fix that by adding a catalytic converter and going up and back down.
Then we will put the rear section in and be done.
Tomorrow. Kicking him out for the day.

We had a brief discussion about relocating the removed torque tube.
After viewing the design and installation of the 4Plus Crossmember and skid, I agree that it isn’t necessary, plus relocating it creates other issues such as having to remove it to replace the clutch etc.
Hope this thread helps others who want to do the conversion, other than the $cope of the job, solving the Crossmember and skid plate issue helped tremendously and the result has exceeded expectations!

Bolted in the shafts and then realized there was no way the clutch cover was going to fit. Headers are all in the way too.
Cut the vertical part off and bolted it up separately. 2 piece. Same same. Done.
Now on to the hump. I bought an ultra rare elevated 5 speed 40 hump. We are trying to clearance it all then we will join the two then plug the holes to keep the air out.
Some maniac slapped silver heat shield all over the firewall ……Patty….
Cut the vertical part off and bolted it up separately. 2 piece. Same same. Done.

Can’t take credit on the silver heat shield, was a couple previous owners ago who installed along with the early generation Vintage AC that I removed.
I would never go to that much effort, tops always off in the summer!

Early afternoon update.
Waiting on the Wizard I started tidying up under the hood. I realized I forgot the throttle cable bracket. When I needed the extra umph to keep it in place o felt the stud stripping in the aluminum.
This and another stud on the adapter were loose. As many times as the sniper has been on and off with troubleshooting someone cranked the nuts too tight and took out two of the 4 posts.
I pulled it and we are going in with bolts from the bottom since it’s the two in the front and I can get a wrench on them easily.
He’s painfully slow on this hump but it’s looking good. Original gasket glued on
Now we are setting rivnuts into the original hump to attach this piece.

Ok. This damn thing is done. Turned out great. He hates rivnuts so he welded the old pieces we cut out back in instead.

That is some nifty metal work, always a great outcome when the craftsman insists on doing things the best way, even when it is unseen.
Eventually, I will respray the inner tub with some Liner and cover with Olive 653 paint.

We made a new style Tcase shifter to match the oddball Tcase boot. The hole is forward v centered. Also when we pulled back for 4wd it was striking the hump.
Fixed.
