i am trying to find an FJ that is reasonably close to Richmond, Ky. Primarily looking for a decent running project that looks mostly original . Other than that I'm not too picky. I have a cash budget of about $10k or so.

1978 FJ 40 landcruiser Saw this on CL. Didn't go to too much effort to post pictures or clean up the clutter. Thoughts on this 40?
Time to clean out the shop.
Clean frame complete with axles, driveshafts, engine, transmission and transfer case.
Head is off of the engine, bores look good, stock pistons, doesn't seem to have much cylinder wear at all but I haven't put a mic to it. Looks to have ProComp shocks, possible springs.
No title but bill of sale.
I might have some roller wheels/tires somewhere. Pickup in Granbury, Texas.

I just became a member recently and I’m posting this for my dad. I live near Chattanooga, TN and we haven’t had any luck with selling this Land Cruiser. There’s not many people around our area that know what it is or truly appreciate the vehicle. So I’m broadening the approach by joining this forum. Hey everyone. New here and looking to part with my 1979 fj40 land cruiser. Original blue paint interior has everything (dash pad rear heater jump seats in great condition.) front seats are pretty torn and there's rust In the usual, late 70s early 80s 40 series, places. Drives floor pan rust is pretty bad the passanger side is not terrible. The rear bed looks like it was patched quickly in one spot and probably needs to be re done. Has and chevy small block conversion. Original 4 speed tranny. Lifted on 35 inch bfgs with lots if tread left. Any questions send me an email through Craig's list.

I have decided to sell my 1971 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser. It is a very clean FJ40. It came from an estate in Colorado. It was a one owner truck, and it comes with a bill of sale only because they did not have titles in 1971 when it was purchased new. New owner can get a title for it. I have not messed with it since I am not ready to fix it up yet. Seller told me that it was driven and used on a large ranch in dry southern Colorado since it was new, hence the original 1971 Colorado license plates still on the vehicle. The engine was removed at some point in time. It was pulled apart and comes with the vehicle. The front seats need recovered. It could also use a new upper dash pad. I am looking for a original paint worn fj40. Would like to find one with as little rust as possible, but I don't mind a little bit. Looking for a running driving fj40 with original paint. I don't mind if original interior is worn down. I want to buy one I can gradually work on. I have kids and want one they can climb around in or on and not worry about paint or restored condition. I took this in trade back in 2014. P.O. built this as a trail rig, trailering it to the trails. My intention was to make it more of a DD. I removed the full roll cage and 5 point racing seats. Traded the 38’s for 33’s . I haven’t driven it more than 5 miles, mostly yard driving. Not a fan of the SOA at all. The engine 3speed trans and t-case have 15,000 miles. Fj60 power steering conversion, along with 60 series front disc brakes. Rear has a Detroit locker. All rust was removed during the build. PO hurculined everytning inside and out ( also not a fan of hurculiner). Hardtop is from a newer model, so has ambulance doors

I am the second owner of this gorgeous and well documented and restored 83 FJ40. I have owned it since Aug of 2015. It was basically a barn find. The original owner was a meticulous record/manual keeper, and I have receipts and registrations etc going back to 1983. Too many things are new to list, but include tail lights, turn signals, PS pump, rebuilt OEM PS box, windshield gasket, tires, brakes, fuel tank, fuel tank lines, brake lines, rebuilt carb, OME suspension, etc... Currently 87,500 original miles.

Hi all. I am in San Antonio, TX. I have never purchased an FJ before and am very far from having an experienced eye in evaluating one for purchase. This one is available not too far from me and I have spoken with the seller about seeing it later today.
Can y'all please give me some input on what your experience/expertise tells you about this rig. Anything in the pictures/description that sticks out as good/bad? What about price?

With so many other projects going were going to put our 1962 FJ40 up for sale. asking $ 5000. This is as complete a 1962 as I have seen. Motor and trans are missing, front turn signals and the trans cover has been modified for a floor shifter other than that everything is in good shape for a rig 55 years old. The frame is solid, the truck works great and is driven almost daily, 6 cylinder gas with new carb, comes with replacement fenders, hundreds of dollars worth of spare parts and is a solid off road performer. Located on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. The vehicle is fully functional and while it has some rust it is essentially sound and can be driven as is or restored.
Sitting on the local main drag - just a block away from the annual end of the week long supercar show display of Ferrari's, Lambos, GT40's, etc. etc. Probably hoping to reel in someone off the foot traffic....
Looked like a really nice top, maybe euro or one of Ehsans with the ambulance door uppers, but not much more worth noting. Bodywork looked decent - but as shown in pics, not quite commensurate with the price.
In the market for a 1965 or older fj40, prefer as rust free as possible, prefer factory corrugated hard top. Let me know what you have,
