So one of my dash pads fell off and I tried the double sided tape thing but that didn't work so well. So I cracked out my Freesole and did some gluing. Drilled holes through the metal so it would have some rubber to bond to. Don't expect this to be falling off any time soon... :)

Okay went over to my buddy's and we made the trek to his dad's shop. Got a new exhaust installed and welded up the cb antenna holes! Really happy about that! Looking forward to finishing up that passenger side rear quarter panel and ready to hit it up with paint!

Okay snuck in a little work before the heat arrived. Managed to sheer off many bolts and of course had to drill one out. So not a ton of progress today. Also noticed a nice leak off the back axle. Yay. It's coming out of that little cap, only seems to leak when the car is parked on a slope. In this case the rear end was higher than the front.

Hope to skim that back panel tomorrow morning. And I've got a little touching up to do on the driver's side.

So have been trying to do the EL light upgrade for the dash. Got it all setup like I've seen on these forums but not having any luck. I did improve the stock lighting as one wasn't even working - cleaned up the contacts and voila!

But it is frustrating not being able to get this to work... I think I will leave it for another day... :(

Okay got it! WOOHOO! What a great upgrade. I soldered my connections to make it work. Many thanks to @dasgeek for his post on how to make the final connection.

I tell you I can tear into the dash in a matter of seconds now that I've done it so many times. The one voodoo like thing is that speedo cable - fight, fight, expletive, expletive, fight, break, fight again, and then it mysteriously pops right on. Crazy.

Oh and btw be prepared for this to happen when you separate the board from the housing...

That is the rubber gasket. I used some foam weatherstripping in place of it worked great and protected the wires that pass between the housing and the board.

Hey Mike, I noticed your light switch is not lit. Check this out:

Oh great now you're going to make me get into my dash again... lol.

I will have to do some research. Thanks I didn't know it lit up but makes sense now that I look at the type of knob it is.
