If there are enough of us we can pool in and hire an attorney to represent us. Surely there is one in the community

Lets seriously consider pooling resources and just suing him.

I second the call for a new thread dedicated exclusively to those who paid for a turbo kit and have been ghosted by Joey. I paid $6,150 on March 22, 2022 for someone else's slot and my last communication with Joey was on July 7, 2022. No response to multiple emails, texts, or calls since that time.

I suspect our money is long gone so we may never recover a penny from Joey but I think we should still hold him accountable. As a group we have a chance, as individuals, probably not. I view this as fraudulent behavior affecting multiple customers that goes above and beyond the sort of thing you might take someone to small claims court over. A group of people alleging fraud establishes a pattern of fraudulent business practices that, I hope, will carry some weight with local authorities.

I've been in contact with at least two others in the same situation, off MUD, that I've encouraged to join this thread. Both have expressed interest in joining some sort of joint action to recover whatever they can from Wit's End. I would be interested in getting a head count of how many people are in the same boat. To that end, @lazy please add me to your table and let me know what I can do to help. I'm happy to assist this group in any way I can.

I am in the same boat and I honestly don’t mind the wait, but the lack of communication is what is concerning. Therefore I have lost N faith that the turbo order will actually be filled.

Hopefully he is made aware of this thread which will hopefully generate a response.

BBB is not a bad start, but if no resolution pooling resources might be a good idea. Hopefully there will be a resolution before that.

I finally got a update on my orders on Mar. 7 exactly the same day I left a reply here. Don't know if it was a coincidence or what. But of course, I only got half of my order. Ask again about the rest. No replies again. Anyone knows where I can buy a ram mount that goes into the cubby hole on 80...

Should we get some landcruiser stickers that says "Joey owes me $6 grand." I'm not a big sticker guy, but I'd put those on both my 80s.

I honestly think a shunning from the community is biggest sword we can swing right now. A lawsuit does nothing. It's not in dispute that he owes us. Like I said, there's nothing left to recoup.

I've been digging around a good bit. Here, numerous other threads here, facebook comments, google reviews, and instagram comments, there are way more than just the turbo's that this is going on with. I agree that the chance of recouping anything is very low and that a small claims action is unlikely to do much.

However, the BBB is has a lot of weight it can throw around. I'd recommend everyone take a few minutes and file a complaint. But if you only have the time for one, file the claim with the FTC link I shared above. The more they see from the same company the more resource they'll put behind it. And each order is a violation of federal law that wasn't shipped (within 30 days, I think) for a penalty up to $50K for each. At a minimum, if they pursue wit's end, it'll prevent future issues like these for people that aren't tied into the circles where there is visibility.

Probably worth a clean thread, cross-posted to get as many people involved too

Forums dont really see the traffic they use to IMO. It's all about FB pages. Post something negative on him on the UZJ100 FB page and the groupies come out like flies on dog sh*t.

Sorry to hear about the missing turbo orders. Getting a list together is the first step....

I was one of his problem suppliers. People would pay him for Landtank Products and I wouldn’t deliver.

In my defense my wife was going through a cancer incident and during that time I was shipping product and taking payment with out balancing the books. Once my wife was in the clear and I went back to balance the spread sheet he had shorted me $15,000.00.

I called him out about this and he did send me the majority of the money but still owes me $4700.00.

I wondered about your situation. I had already put 2 and 2 together when I saw your products were dropped from his website. I suspect he failed to pay many of his vendors, which was why he was always searching for new suppliers. Vendor problems was one of his excuses.

I have been out of this community for a while, and I attempted to make my first order from Wits End two years ago of Overland Metric bolts/nuts. Joey never shipped, despite Overland Metric having everything in stock. I now buy directly from Overland Metric and I have never had an issue.

I was called out by people like GOTLOCKED96 and many others. I call them the Excusers. Joey makes an Excuse, and they come to his defence.

Ever since then, if I see a Wits End Buyer Beware Post, I make it my duty to support the OP because I know there will be Excusers telling the OP to shut up and wait.

Honestly, Joey did me a favor. He made the call to end our agreement which pushed me into where I am now and I will be grateful for that.

Wow, this sucks. I was one of the earliest purchasers and I got my kit in the basic timeframe i was expecting (still a long time by most vendor's standpoint, but Joey was clear on setting expectations for delivery at that time). Had a handful of real conversations with Joey along the way and everything was transparent and good. Because of that experience, I ordered a bunch of other stuff through him rather than the local dealer or other vendors. That was several years ago now and it's sad to see the way this has turned on everyone. Holding out hope for you guys left in the lurch.

Especially if you can order from the supplying vendor.

I have never ordered from Witts End, I have looked at his products but honestly I get my OEM parts way cheaper than his prices.

Some of his gadgets are cool though.

But starting 1-2 years ago I could see this shop sinking based on complaints. Funny though, a lot of rats stayed onboard

I've ordered multiple times without problems but it's been a while. Was nice how he had parts packaged together as various kits, made it easy.

Now just order direct from a dealer and save money

I've ordered two-dozen times without problem too. Love his gear. For most businesses getting it right for most of the customers and telling those that you fail to ****-off doesn't usually work though. Somehow, Joey has managed it here.

The J-pipe and down pipe are where the real value in this kit are. These are custom pieces that cannot be purchased elsewhere and are definitely of better design and higher quality than the few alternatives out there (CX and Treadstone).

Having previously built my own turbo kit from scratch, with some success and some failure, this is a big part of why I bought the wits' end kit. It really is a superior product if you actually get it,

The turbo, wastegate and all the other bits and bobs can be cobbled together on your own with some patience.

:edit: just read about that HD Automotive kit for the first time. That might be a viable alternative for a similarly designed J-pipe and at least the beginnings of a downpipe.
