ARCHIVE Wits’ End 60 Series Glove Box Insert design- input needed

As if I don't have WAY too many things going on right now...

@woytovich last year sometime brought up a potential project. It was something I had kinda, sorta considered but was waaaaaay down on the list. Well, my own 60 Series needed a solution so it go moved up in the priority list. Other issues in the background slowed any progress but its moved forward again.

You 60 Series guys know that glove box? Yeah inside. That cardboard pile of crap that is inside? You know, the one that is either falling apart or missing or torn or turned into a mouse's nest? Well, I am going to making reproduction units in aluminum. Now I still have some decisions to make on the design and fabrication but I figured now would be a good time to not only get feedback on actual interest but also if there are potential wish list items that would be interesting to include in the design.

For right now I do NOT have a production estimate for neither time nor cost. Right now its JUST about design so all input is welcome.

I just installed grab bar. And of course had to pull the glove box inset ou. It's still pretty good shape, but this would be excellent upgrade.

Mine is also in decent shape but pending price, I would love this upgrade. I keep my iPod in mine with the cable going to the back of my radio, so I would add a hole big enough for a USB cable to go through. Maybe a shelf divider though maybe that would up the cost too much.

100% on the hole for USB. Also an LED.

Just to throw a monkey wrench into the works....It's my opinion that the glove box is a terrible waste of valuable space and should be cut out entirely. So that's what I did. The glove box (I think) is worthless.

Jerry cans can now sit upright on the floor in that spot - the perfect location for them. I think cutting out the glove box was one of the best 'mods' I've done to my truck. I have to admit- it takes some courage.....

For the USB, a hole to suit a panel mount port line this would be great;

If you could do a couple punch outs it could let people use or not use a hole for a USB / led/ cig light charge port.

I'd like to see the space be better utilized by making the glove book insert larger ( I'm fairly certain that you could extend it up a bit more and definitely down)

+1 vote on the usb or maybe multiple usb slots and +1 on the split shelf idea. Led would be nice also. Mines in pretty good shape but I would probably replace it for some added functionality.

Plain aluminum inside? what about some molle webbing?

Not sure Molle would be useful given the size but I am toying with the idea of adding Velcro loop to one side.

I’m not familiar with the 62 but yeah it’s probably the same. If you could post pics of both that would help.

Grab bars should be affected.
