Very surprised. Most other forums I frequent (tacomaworld.com, legacygt.com, iwsti.com) divide parts for sale sections per vehicle models. Make sense in Land Crusier (and other truck) worlds as vast majority of parts are not interchangeable?

Another improvement that could be made would be requiring location in the subject.

there is a good deal of crossover between say fj40(late models more so) and a fj60, fj60 and fj62 again share a lot of parts, less so as you get into newer models.

franky I think there are too many sub forums sometimes..........but I have been here since 2003.

Maybe these could be grouped together? FJ40-FJ62? Then 80, 100, and 200-series. There is like no crossover between 200-series and earlier models.

I dunno, but there are folks that are looking for 80 series parts for 40 or 60's, like axles, lockers, PS boxes etc etc. Yeah not much crosses over on a 200 but there really not close to the amount of 200's compared to any other model made represented here...a separate 200 parts forum would not get much action.

in my case, I have 40's, 45, 60/62, 80 and 100 series so I am often looking for stuff for any or all of them.....so the way it is now works for me

Well, even if you're looking for parts from another model, I think having them organized would be a net benefit for most use case.

Anyway, just my thoughts. Was trying to see what's available for 200-series and then saw I had to wade through tons of irrelevant stuff....

Its not all inclusive, but typing the model in the search box will quickly narrow the search. Kinda of goes to a different format.

If the person posting the part for sale or wanted would list the vehicle model would help a lot. At one times there were a pretty good details rules to follow. I don't mind being grouped together, just wish people would take a couple seconds and add the model to the title.

It's hard to rely on folks doing the right thing... unless you leave them no choice.

One way, would be to be forced to select a prefix from a predefined list, something like:

FS - 80-series, Location:
FS - 100-series, Location:
FS - 200-series, Location:
....
FS - Other, Location:

You get the idea.

But I still think separate model forums would make it easier anyway. I'd ditch separation of other types of parts, that's too much (except tires/wheel which could go to it's own subform as they currently are). It's much easier to check few subforums than two dig through bunch of irrelevant things.

Anyway, just a feedback from a new member.

yeah that seem to mostly happen when a member..... for some reasono_O only has 1 model of Cruiser.....usually a late model :)

(seems 80 series more than others)

If it makes you feel any better, us poor 45 diesel owners have almost no group or forum. We are lumped in with all the coal rollers or the FJ45 turds.

Just kidding! - FJ45's are the coolest :grinpimp:

As long as 100s,200,s Prius’s , tacos and anything else IFS went in the same forum....I’m happy.
What if the Prius has a 4bt swap?
