Thanks for looking into this @ttFJC. I will be out of town on the 31st but if it happens a later weekend keep me posted and I can tag along and give a hand.

I can certainly bring the wheels and tires back with me this weekend, if the car is going to be retrieved on the 31st I'll have to hand them off to someone next week.

are you coming thru Helena? if so when?
I can hold on to the wheels here.

I’ll be coming through Helena Monday afternoon, could easily drop the wheels off with you.

Dane, do you still have my #? what time are you coming thru? I should be home from noon on

I do have your number, I’ll be coming through late afternoon. Will let you know my eta when I leave Whitefish.

Sounds like my brother and I are planning on camping out the night before or also after. Staying on the Whitehall side find a little sheltered spot.

what time works for everyone to try and rally the troops? I say we can get an early start Saturday that way we can get the car on @3_puppies trailer at a reasonable time.

I'm up for early, meet at 8am at the trailhead parking/loading area??
I think Dane will drop the spare tires off Monday at my place.

Something came up and I wont be able to help out on this one.
God Speed trail warriors!

What’s the latest with this? 8am at the hay canyon trail head? Do we have roller tires for the car? How many people do we have?

I’m in and my brother will be there with his Nissan. Hay canyon trailhead at eight. I believe that @3_puppies will have a set of wheels that hopefully will work and he's showing up with a trailer. @WreckDiver1321 is driving up from billings an may show up to the party a bit late, not sure who else is planning on making it. should be enough people to figure it out.

@AirheadNut dropped the tires off Monday eve.
I'll have those, plus tools, battery, jumper cables, etc
my thought was we may need power to get it in N, will need to jimmy the column, hence the tools
sounds like it may be warm on Sat, so early is better, calling for close to 90F in Helena

I'd suggest looking for a diagram of the steering column ahead of time to see if you can figure out the easiest way to disable the steering lock. I tried to look it up a few days ago, but didn't find much.

I actually love exploring the occasional random old car or structure when I'm on the trail, but it sounds like this is more akin to an old mattress or appliance for many

as it really doesn't matter what happens as long as it gets unlocked
thiefs can do it in 10 seconds, I'll probably take a little longer but we'll get it steerable somehow.
